Gotta be honest, never tried either. I generally go for whatever is on sale, and I can't tell too much of a difference between brands, at least when it comes to basic chocolate or vanilla.

Ben and Jerry's is better. I like them both but the variety of flavors at BJ is much more diverse than Häagen-Dazs.

If they are the same flavor, I'd generally take Haagen Daz. But, my favorites are the flavors that only Ben and Jerry's makes. Big Gay Ice Cream is also really good.
