so much about "hearing the people" on Brexit, acting like it was 70-30 last June, but it was 52-48, seems they forgot about that 48

the part of Scotland that essentially saved the Tories from total loss was the part that probably voted for Brexit

May's hard-exit should be out of the table by now, partly-in looks more likely, and still, going through all this political mess and sacrificing large resources towards committing economic suicide and risking Scotexit at the same time is totally not worth it, especially if you think that the EU vote was almost a tie

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

why the Scots voted Tory is anyone's guess as they're the party who least looks out for the Scots.

Probably the SNP insisting they have another independence referendum.

I wonder what share Tories + DUP have of the popular vote - if it's 48% that would be some bittersweet irony

Lab + LibDem + SNP seem to have 50.4% combined

People who voted Leave did vote Labour to you know...

Not a large chunk but Labour respecting Brexit likely gave it any sort of fighting chance this election.

How to shoot yourself in the foot in politics volume 2 by Theresa May featuring exclusive chapters written by certified lunatic Howling Mad Boris Johnson on acting like a complete basket case in the political scene to the point even Mugabe and Putin demand that you be sectioned. The book follows the success of Vol 1 by David Cameron which featured chapters by George Osbourne on how to f**k up on a day to day basis, the two books inspired both Hilary Clinton's campaign and Donald Trump's Presidency. Recommended if you want your country's Government to look like a circus complete with a shit show to leave other countries thinking wtf.

Well this is a bit of a shock. Now that I have watched the BBC newscast long enough, I am shocked at some of the poor decisions Theresa May made with her campaign. Not showing up to one of the debates, flip-flopping and then failing to admit it, not campaigning in large crowds like Jeremy did. She took a very big risk, and it bit her in the arse. Should've waited until Brexit negotiations were over before she called an election, seeing that she would've had a big success under her belt and more trust with the electorate. Now she risks bringing instability. Absolutely abysmal result from what should've been an easy victory.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Calling an election 3 years before it was scheduled backfired big time. Recently inherited the role of PM by default and wanted to legitimise her position as PM by winning an election.

Well the DUP news isn't going down well with the public, when you consider that most Tory voters are older generations who lived through the IRA chaos May's career could be over after the next election if she goes through with siding with the DUP. The images popping up are hilariously ruthless.

It feels like a bit of a loss for almost everyone in one respect or another. The conservatives won, yet lost. Labour lost, yet won. The Lib Dems made gains, but their vote share hasn't recovered at all from 2015. SNP are the largest party in Scotland, but made big losses (especially to the Conservatives).

Conservative voters are now left with a minority government that will have to make concessions to the DUP to make up the difference, and Labour voters managed to make gains but likley not enough to cause many significant shifts in policy.

If this were any other time, i'd think another election within a year would be almost guaranteed. With us about to start negotiating with the EU though, i feel like anything could happen.

Yeah, I'm surprised that Theresa May managed to fuck up to this degree. Her one job was to not do anything stupid and she proceeded to do one stupid thing after another...
