Re-writing someones memories is amoral, like... literally their entire life wiped. It's just really messed up, doesn't matter that they're good fake memories.

I mean, I'm not saying I disagree. But I do need more details before understanding what's the process to call it as such. Let's not forget the patient voluntarily signs a contract which involves voluntarily giving up their whole privacy and giving two neuroscientist free reign to move things inside his head as long as the dream can be fullfilled.
It's not like the patient is forced in the scenario to sign the contract.

OK, well I do have to say, you probably derail threads more than almost anyone else I've seen, with either talk about LoD, cats or something else.

Because people are used to writing posts that don't get them banned.
Taking the plunge and actually trolling or calling someone a fanboy... well it's just not a good idea even for fun because the direction to keep any flaming in this thread isn't going to work at all, anyone that gets triggered or starts having a flamewar of insults with someone in this thread, isn't suddenly going to forget about it.
If two people butt-heads here you can bet your ass it'll be reflected in other threads on the site.
You might not get banned in this thread, but the affect your behaviour has in this thread isn't going to be contained to just here.
