One person does not equal to the whole of fox news. Again, the regressive left tries to make everything seem a much bigger deal than it is. The currency of the left is fake outrage. By all means, keep it up and you'll put trump in office again.

Ah, the regressive left again. Nice.

Ok, so if the next president decides to rejoin the Paris Climate Deal or similar, and next day some guy at CNN, MSNBC or Washington Post comes out and says that the president called him for councel right before making the decision, there would be no reactions?

Yep, the regressive left. A well earned moniker coined by a democrat of all things.

Honestly, I would't care because people have friends or people they look to for advice they interacted with in the past. Nothing wrong with asking for advice or talking to a friend.

Get used to it. Until he's impeached, resigned, or dead -the world is going to hate him.

I don't have to get used to it. The political side I agree with beat the snot out of dems for most of the elected positions in the government. If anything, I'm fairly content. Just waiting on trump and republicans to continue doing some good.

Actually, every indication seems to be that he called her because she happens to be on that Fox News show that regularly praises and defends him, not because of any expertise or education she herself has. =P She has absolutely no background in either environmental sciences, or even economics if we want to use that whole 'Jobs, Jobs, Jobs' line Trump has been floating around. Before she entered television she worked as a Prosecutor for criminal cases, with no sign that her background gives her any particular knowledge or authority on the matters Trump called her about.

Her sole defining characteristic seems to be that she was a safe bet as someone who'd give him a pat on the head and a cookie, rather than trying to change his mind with picture-less documents that were longer than a single page.

I'm not particularly outraged, we already know the guy seeks validation above substance every chance he gets. =P

I mean, all big news organization are always pushing their own agenda. I only really follow CNN in the morning and while eating my meals at home but I know they are pushing their own agenda and have been caught editing videos regarding BLM/police shooting to make them seem less volatile. That being said, Fox News are, in my opinion, the worst of the worst. It's just a giant circle jerk in there and most of their host, specially that brain dead sean hannity, are blatantly biased. I can't stand any of them and I'm not surprised there is a cultutre of the men being despicable and abusive asswipes.

OT: Donald Trump is an attention whore, plain and simple. He loves having all eyes on him and he'll do anthing to get it. He didn't have to make an announcement to announce his decision but he wanted everybody to have eyes on him when he did. As far as I understand it, the accord was just a pact of goodwill, it wasn't a binding document, countries were not obligated to do anything, just acknowledge that climate is changing and that steps should be taken to help minimize the heating of the planet. This dummy is making my head hurt.

I understand what it meant. But at the same time you have to keep in mind what that says about the US. Us not supporting it is us saying we're not going to recognize climate change as real. That makes us the only country to be like that. Keep in mind Nicaragua didnt sign it because it wasn't as pro-environment as they wanted and Syria couldn't because theyre all fucked up and weren't present. The US left because it doesn't believe in climate change.

That'd be as if there was a world wide agreement saying "we all know the earth is a sphere" and the US exits it saying, "No. The earth is flat and is supported by elephants which are supported by a tortoise. You understand how stupid it makes us look? We already look bad for not using the metric system... this country is an embarassment

Oh I agree. That is the biggest blow from all of this, we now have the image of a country who ignores sciences at all cost, even if the vast majority of countries agree.  And we get lumped with Syria of all countries. I heard this morning on CNN where Cuomo was asking Chris Collins why Trump would do this and Collins just goes on a tangent that (as always) this was a bad deal for the US and it was costing millions of jobs, that the decision was done for the benefit of the american people and that all the countries were laughing at us because we had 'harder lines' to meet than other countries. The only thing that Trump got was that now all the countries are ACTUALLY laughing at us for leaving. Yes, jobs in certain places will be lost but we can begin to focus on making more job in cleaner energy and in the long run (in theory), it will lead to the benefit of the american people.

You're competely right, we are becoming an embarassment in the eyes of the global community and the civilized world.

Like most dems, you're reversing reality.  Right leaning people want things that benefit the whole country and not just for a few groups a certain political party panders to for votes. More jobs and stronger economy helps all americans.

Well, what does "stronger economy" even mean? More money? It doesn't really mean much, as there could be more money, but result of most people having less if it concentrates towards to the upper class.

While I think your constant "regressive left" propaganda is silly and that "fake outrage" is just as common with the right (you often do it here, actually), I do agree that this story, while decidedly odd, is pretty much meaningless.  I very much doubt that Trump calling this person had any influence on his decision making at all.  He probably "worked the phones" with right-wing media figures he knew would praise him on the air.  There may have been an element of ego in it as well.  Also, the Huffington Post is full of absolute crap and I put it in the same pile as many of the shows on Fox News.

I mean, if Trump was going to take advice from anyone in the media, it would be Alex Jones.  I'm not sure if I'm kidding or not, which is really scary now that I think about it.

I'm not a dem. Nor left like you try to propogate. Pro-Conservation is what I am. And that short sighted benefit will hurt the world. Instead of pander to industries like coal mining which has no future, the US should invest into jobs that help the environment. There are plenty of jobs that do that which will and can boost the economy
