Today is (in my opinion) the most important game of the series. Will the Cavs lose and put themselves in a 3-0 hole, or will they make it 2-1 to try to tie it in game 4?
The X-factor of today's game is the Cav's defense and their role players. With J.R Smith, Kyle Korver, and others struggling, it isn't surprising to see them not lighting a match. The defense must also be fixed- allowing 113 and 132 points is not the way you win the finals.
I'm predicting this game will be closer (I hope so), with Golden State winning 117-109. It will stay close overall until either KD or Curry close it in the final minutes.

Important Finals headlines:

Tyronn Lue will not make any significant changes to the lineup. J.R Smith will still stay as a starter

Viewership is the highest we have seen in a finals series since Jordan faced the Jazz in '98. Jordan's legendary series averaged 23 million viewers, while the current series is at 20 million.

Kerr will coach for rest of finals

LeBron has tied Magic Johnson for most triple doubles in finals history

1. Fixed.

I expect the Cavs to take Game 3 tomorrow. Being back home, I think, will be the spark plug and energizer they need, ESPECIALLY the bench players. JR Smith and Kyle Korver will find their shot. Tristan Thompson will crash the boards with a vengeance. Kyrie will make up for is subpar Game 2, and LeBron will be LeBron.
The Warriors cannot afford to make even half the mistakes they made in Game 2, not when playing in Cleveland. They have to take much better care of the ball, especially Steph, those 20 turnovers CANNOT happen again if they plan on winning in Cleveland. Klay has to build off his Game 2 performance as well, he finally found his shot, this would be a terrible time for him to suddenly go cold again, because the Warriors will need him, along with Steph and K.D. to be on their A game offensively for them to be able to win Game 3.

Overall, the Cavs will have to be damn near perfect and the Warriors have to be almost as sloppy as they were in Game 2 for them to have a chance in this game. But being back home I think will give them that edge they need.

Oops, that is a dumb mistake. thanks for pointing it out!

He's on his 7th in a row... Let that sink in.   Have you ever considered that he's taken teams that don't deserve to be in the Finals or otherwise wouldn't without his presence?  And he's only 32.  He feasibly could make several more finals before his career ends.

Yes he has, and he's absolutely amazing. One of the best to ever play the game without question. He's just never gonna be the GOAT, that's all.

Oh and the amount of teams he took to the finals that didn't deserve to be there, is exactly one. The first time he ever went to the finals, with that sorry ass Cavs team full of nobodies....that team had no business in the finals, and what he did to take them there was phenomenal. Every team since then though? Stacked with talent, and best in the east without question. Would have been shocking if he didn't get to the finals.

And he WILL go to several more finals before his career is over. At least 3 I'd say. And if this Golden State team stays together, guess what....he'll lose all of those too. It's completely within the realm of reason to suggest he might end his career with a 3-8 record in the NBA Finals. And let me tell you, it doesn't matter how great you are, if that's your record on the sports biggest stage....you can never ever be the GOAT. That's a fact.

And Jordan's teams weren't stacked with talent?  I mean -- that's the joke honestly.

Championships are a team victory.  Jordan didn't earn those alone, and while one great player can carry teams to a championship, you need a team to win them. LeBron and his teams have only been favored to win (2 of his 8 Finals in his career), that punctures your theory right at face value.  The Bulls were always considered favorites to win outside (of their very first championship).  TLDR;  The Bulls were the dominant team always -- Lebron teams were not always the best teams but he consistently got them there.

1. Never said Jordan's teams didn't have talent. Didn't even mention him at all

2. Nobody cares who's favored in the finals, and who's the underdog, beyond that snapshot in time. In the end, when it's all said and done, people care about exactly one thing......did you get the job done?

3. You seem incredibly offended by my saying Lebron is one of the greatest ever, just not THE greatest ever. Seriously....relax. Life will go on

The Cavs must lock down the game and play tight defence. The Cavs can not make it a shoot out game against the Warriors.

Game 3 in less than 2 hours.
It's Do or Die time for the Cavs.

If the Cavs don't win tonight, can we call out the broom crew yet?

I'll make a prediction, but first some rough analysis. We always like to call LeBron a great player, but he also plays a role in making executive decisions, thus why people refer to him as GM LeBron. Due to the acquisitions LeBron has made about acquiring players he likes to get, he's ultimately built a team with no real focus. Korver's a good shooter, but he's aging and has always not been renowned for his D. Deron Williams is the same way. Ultimately, this Cavs team is pretty pathetic on passing and defense, 2 areas where the Warriors thrive. The Cavs need to slow the tempo down tonight if they want any chance to win. The second thing they need to do is get to the lane. The Cavs have no real great passers minus LeBron. As such, Kyrie and LeBron need to drive in order to free open shots for the team as a whole. Even with this though, they don't match the overall talent on the Warriors side of the court.

I say if the Cavs play their style of basketball, it'll be a tigh one. Personally I think with KD the Warriors can go toe-to-toe anyday with LeBron, so I'll say best circumstance Warriors win 123-115. Worst case, Warriors 139-94. Feel free to comment if I'm wrong, just my insight.
