I don't get this notion. What do you expect him to do? Just run the clock and concede? What about that stuff about playing hard till the end that we learn from pee wee league? He was the only player on the Cavs who scored outside JR's three in the 4th.

And I think he balled out and did whatever he could playing so many hard minutes. Having to control the offense, score, pass, defend KD, and lead against the stacked Warriors team isn't easy.

i think he'll end up top 5 or maybe higher in the end. GOAT discussions might be over, but I think he went down swinging. Sure we can talk about the weak East while ignore the watered down West of the 80s when it comes to Magic Johnson, but if you can ask how many players have made that many consecutive finals, you have to go back to the 60s. Going to the Finals takes a mental, physical, and emotional toll on you as you have to grind out best-of-7 series for three rounds before the Finals. After that, win or lose, you'll have a short offseason before having to deal with the grind of the regular season once more. Even Michael Jordan admitted that mental fatigue is a factor when playing deep into May and June for consecutive years. It was (maybe partly) why he retired the first time. That's why Isiah Thomas and Larry Bird retired in their early to mid-thirties. Something wears down whether it's physical or mental or emotional after battling for so many years. It's incredible how Lebron is able to maintain good health and remain mentally sharp in the playoffs for so many consecutive years to make the Finals. And you could only play what's in front of you so that's out of Lebron's power.

There are thousands of players who were fortunate enough to make the NBA, very few of them are fortunate enough to make the Finals. And very few of those few are fortunate enough to come back.

Unless that number one draft pick turns out to be one of the biggest busts of all time the Celtics will more then likely dethrone the Cavs next season.  Plus besides the number one pick I'm pretty sure they also have cap room so they have the number one pick and can get a decent free agent.

I really doubt the Celtics will dethrone the Cavs.  They would need more than just 1 player.  They were getting eaten alive before their lead player got injured.  The only reason the Cavs lost a game was because they were practically taking the 3rd quarter off and having a 3 point shooting contest while being ice cold and not hustling.  If the Cavs had taken them seriously as they should have, that series would have been a sweep.  The Celtics have a ton of work to do to have a shot. 

Should have said this earlier but the 1994-95 Rockets sweeping the Magic in the Finals is pretty much the most devestating defeat in the finals ever they never recoved from that loss and going into the finals they where on the verge of greatness.  Getting to the finals they elimated one of the best Pacer teams in the semis and when they defeated the Bulls in the quaterfinals Jordan was back to his pre hiatus form.  So there is no reason they should have got swept in the finals.

But they are getting more then just one player they have the number one pick and cap room.

The Rockets needed 7 games to beat the Knicks in 94 and really only won because John Starks shot like 3-for-293848484 (it was actually 11% ... but 11%, lol) from the field to win game 7. 

MJ was waiting for Hakeem in the Finals many times. Hakeem got beat by Kemp/Payton (badly) in 96, Stockton/Malone in 97 despite having Barkely and Drexler, etc. Not MJ's fault that Olajuwon couldn't get out of his own conference the *six* times he was in the Finals. Plenty of opportunity was given. Hakeem would then get knocked out in the first round with Barkley and Pippen on his team. 

Hakeem was a good player, but he's not even one of the top 10 players of all time, Jordan is the best ever. Lets be real here. 

Well Hakeem is easily on of the top ten centers or power forwards.  Plus people sure like to forget that he got to finals before Jordan did he just lost to a much better Celtics team the first time around.  Also thoughout his career Jordan pretty much always had a better supporting cast than Hakeem had the only time that wasn't true was in college.  Hakeem's University of Houston teams where all loaded with talent.

Kevin Love must be traded to land Paul George or Chris Paul. LeBron/Kyrie/JR Smith + George or Paul would be an awesome team.

Yeah, it sucks cause Love has the potential to be better than this but he's just so inconsistent and in the finals he's rarely a factor.  I mean, Tristan Thompson was more important than him in these finals :P

What they need is a really good defender in the paint.  Can't stop Durant, but you've gotta slow the points in the paint.  Would also be nice if they had a really good pure point guard so Irving could focus on scoring as a shooting guard.  

Also, Cavs need to re-evaluate their game.  They have fantastic ball handlers and 1 on 1 players, but that's not going to win against a stacked team with good defenders.  They need to take advantage of their good passing abilities too.  

Kevin Love did good during the finals. Tristan Thompson didn't show up but since he makes a ton of money and isn't that good he is pretty much untradeable.
