PS4 is a consistent beast, something I doubt the Switch will match up to. Looking at VGChartz the PS4 has to sell 420,000 units a week before June 11th to be properly tracked at 60.4 million. Insane.

Now it's safe to say that PS4 will easily do more than 100M Worldwide.

Can't imagine the sale when it will be at 199€.

Yeah considering they could probably afford to sell the thing for $199 in 2017 I can't see how a super slim won't be going for $149 someday. And maybe even less. At those kind of prices they will sell a shit ton in poorer regions of the world.

Hmmm, it seems like June will be PS4 > Switch > XB1 again if Amazon is anything to go by. Should get interesting from July onwards since Nintendo confirmed to they'll up the shipments by then.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

If only Nintendo could have shipped just 500k-1mil more units over May/June, then this would have been a near perfect launch.

Sometime mid July shipping should go up abit, nintendo said so in their apology about lack of switch stock.

It might be enough to win them NPD in July, or it could be another PS4 month.

It doesnt look great though, if you launch a console and you win 2 months of NPD, then go on to lose the next 3 in a row.

Definitely.  Consumers start to get fatigue trying to find the console and word of mouth becomes more negative or neglected, hype begins to die down prematurely.  Also Developers get mixed signals about demand and begin to second guess moving any new titles to the Switch. The effect is like putting a cover over a fire, restricting the oxygen.

It's ok to have stock issues at a launch, actually preferrable, but when it is to the point of losing the month numbers and giving apologies, then it sends bad signals.  Most consumers are not going to see the apologies or even care about them.
