Forums - Gaming Discussion - What would make you buy a Scorpio at launch?

399 €. I want one, but I'm not spending any more than that. If it's any more expensive, I'll just wait.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

399$ launch price and announce like 10 kickass looking new IPs that are all JRPGs/RPGs.
Then maybe.

Basically Im not that into xbox's (not into online multiplayer much, dont care about halo/gears).

Already the pattern in those answers suggests that the general feeling towards the scorpio is, that the console is DOA. What is MS thinking? I mean they must have had given thoughts about the scorpio proposition in todays console market.
Obviously MS started designing and engineering the scorpio years ago, when it was hard to predict todays market, and they will stick to their plan by releasing it now. But why?
As there are no obvious incentives for gamers to buy it, even from XboxOne owners, what arre they doing?
Perhaps it is just a 'fill in the gap' mission to counter the PS4/Pro line, but where MS is not believing it will sell that much. It could therefore just be a pscyhological effect for consumers.

It will be by far the most powerful console this gen so that is reason enough for me and gamers to buy it day one. Scorpio will dominate until Sony or nintendo releases a more powerful console. I can't wait to play halo 6 and gears of war 5 on the Scorpio

Powerful yes, but what does it matter, when it has no AAA games to stand out. As always games sell consoles. Hypothetically speaking, I don't believe that a New Gears and Halo, will that many gamers towards the scorpio. And also those games will need to be available for the Xbox One and PC as well, so they don't loose loyalty towards existing xbox owners and keep their promise of xbox/pc symbiosis. And then people will just buy it for the Xbox One, or PC.

And when those two games come out (perhaps holidays 2018?), they will have to compete for the same consumers money, that can go to TLoU2, GoW..

Besides Sony ownes nearly all third party marketing deals, including as rumours go, for RDR2..

Simple question. Pack of exclusive games, same quality with Bloodborne, Horizon, Persona, Last of Us etc.

But I know, this is impossible. I already have PC (enough for Witcher 3 and Attila Total War run with ultra/1080p/60fps) and PS4. Maybe through 2-3 years will buy Switch, but Xbox/Scorpio for now like a fifth whell - just waste of money.

Absolutely nothing would, between zero interest in the biggest Xbox exclusive franchises and owning a great gaming rig, there is no incentive for me to buy an expensive console. I'd rather get a Slim then, if only for the 4k blu-ray playback and not much else.

Literally nothing. Its all power and no exclusives.

Errr... $399 price-tag, can also be used as a fully-featured Windows 10 Desktop.

A revolver to my head.
