I'd even argue legal immigrants suppress wages.  I work at a manufucturing plant that is filled with mainly Asians, Hispanics, Iraqis, and Africans.  Apparently the Iraqis are the new Asians because my work loves hiring them.  They've been able to keep their starting wage at about 9.50-10.50 for the past 10+ years.  Somebody quits or they lay off a bunch of people?  No worries there are plenty of new arrivals to take their place. 

You know why most Americans might not want to do the job?  Because the pay is shit.  It isn't because they can't do the work or the work is too hard.  The pay is shit.  However, someone coming from a poor country might love the idea of 10 dollars a hour.

I will never understand people who have to defy authorities in simple requests like "sit".

And the same folks who won't work those jobs because the pay is crap will be the same folks fighting against raising minimum wage. 

It's nonsense! The guy didn't need to be fired. And who's to say that this is why he's been fired? His company overacted if they fired him for this. But the sensationalized headline is strong with rhetoric. Hell, it got me in this thread. 

Aren't cops supposed to enforce the law? And if immigration rules are codified in law, aren't they allowed to enforce that, too? What gives?

This is a disgrace that the cop was sacked for doing his job. A cop should be able to use any force he deems reasonable to enforce the law.

I was thinking of the legal side of the issue.

Though, of course, there's always big business and government to keep citizens down just to have a few hundred dollars extra each quarter...

The police officer should have detained this potential terrorist or felon on the run and let Immigration deal with the problem. Illegal aliens have no right to be in America and should be arrested and detained.

Not every cop has the authority to enforce any law, much like Judges don't have the authority to rule any case. That's why you don't see mall cops shooting drug dealers in the desert.
