I play the whole time Ribbon Girl and i think she is good but she has some weaknesses. Her Arms are her weakness. No distance and no curve, only straightforwatd. If you fight against her, keep distance.

Every arm has basically the same range from what I can tell. Also her Slapamander is good at curving. Literally every good Ribbon Girl player I've faced uses the same set-up of Thunder Glove + Slapamander infact.

Hope Nintendo tries to get a balance right between the characters and doesn't just go with the idea of "but it's just for fun right?"

I think the difference between the two is that Sakurai has constantly insisted from the beginning that Smash is a party game first while Nintendo and the Mario Kart team seem to be positioning ARMS as a competitive fighter with a unique style of play.

With distance i meant shoot Laser like MinMin or Helix. The Salamander can curve but not so good than from MinMin or Ninhara. Robbin Girl is not good in Team fights and 1vs1vs1

And the pointless tier debate begins *grab popcorn *

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Well every character has arm types the others don't so it's not like that disadvantage is exclusive to Ribbon Girl. When I played as her I won almost all my multi battles bar teams as it's very easy to stay alive with her. Teams is more of a struggle as her movement becomes more limited being tethered to a partner and all, but I didn't notice myself losing those significantly moreso than with other characters.

It's not pointless, knowing what to expect and developing ways to counter is always important.

Could you add a 'see results' option to the poll? I didn't play the demo, but I'd like to see which character people think is the best.

I feel Master Mummy is OP. We have yet to play as the newer characters as well.

Can't wait to play as Twintelle ;)

My bad shoulda had that to begin with. Have to start a new poll unfortunately but eh. Here were the current results:

Spring Man - 0  (0.00%)

Ribbon Girl - 12  (41.38%)

Ninjara - 4  (13.79%)

Master Mummy - 2  (6.90%)

Mechanica - 4  (13.79%)

Min Min - 6  (20.69%)

Helix  - 1  (3.45%)

Total: 29

I'm gonna wait for the full game to come out before giving second thoughts of who's best or not.

In terms of first impressions, I really like Ribbon Girl for her double jump, and Ninjara for his instant dodge.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
