Even without stock problems, 17 might be pushing it. We'll never know.

They were able to ship 18 millions Wii in it's first full fiscal year, even with major shortages all year long. But as you say, we never know. 14 or 15 might be closer to reality. But the Switch doesn't need to hit the 18 mark to sell more. I know they're not targeting the same market, but it's crazy to think that tge PS4 and the are not competitors, if Nintendo's console can keep it's momentum, it will start to affect PS4 sales.

Maybe in Japan, even then I doubt it. Nintendo didn't intend for Switch to compete directly with the PS4 and so far they've succeeded in that regard. There is enough room for both of them. Consider that buying one of each is cheaper than buying a PS3 at launch. Lots of gamers can afford both systems, and since their libraries don't overlap much it's not a redundant purchase.

you're either dumb or you're a nintendo fanboy if you think the switch will outsell the ps4 either this year, next year or the year after that

That only tells me that PS4 users are too young to own a credit card, unlike Switch owners. ;)

And no, sales are not dropping, it's supply constrained. How is it extremely dated in software or specs lol? How can software (games) be dated? They outscore most PS4 games. Do you know a more powerful handheld out there?

You don't need to buy those cards if you have a credit card, it's too cumbersome. Only valid reason to buy something like that is to give away as a gift.

Because of inflated review scores proven by Disagea 5 & Thumper. PS games don't get the luxury of 'soft' reviews.

No, that can easily be explained by those games having less reviews because they're not new. The more reviews, the lower the score, usually. Plus they're now portable, which makes them superior to the PS4 versions.

Anyway, I was talking about Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It took PS4 years to get games like that. Nintendo already delivered in the first couple of months. Super Mario Odyssey will just be another big scorer for Nintendo this year.

But the PS3 was a disaster at is original price, so it's not really a good example. But my point was not based on the price, consumers a ready to pay anything if the think the price is representative of it value. I've been working in retail long enough to understand that even if they have enough money for both product, customers will generally fully invest in only one. It's like releasing 5 games at the same time, imagine if the customer is interested in all of them and have enough money for all, you're lucky if he bought 3 of them.
