Nintendo has like 5 games coming out this year that people are looking forward to and PS4 has many more. In the end buytge system you want and enjoy it. You Nintendo fanboys attacking people is childish and idiotic. Grow up

Ask the mirror.
With the Zelda wave fading I see the Switch sinking and sinking.

whatever you say, chances are on the ps4 side.... switch will not sell more than ps4, or at the very least this is extremily ulikely, and nintendo will not be able to produce enough switches to beat sony in 2017. Nintendo has already made a forecast of 10 million switch in 1 year, believing they will exceed that estimate in 70-80% ... realy? |
First, your original point was that Nintendo couldn't supply 14-15 million units, which is wrong (based on the numbers I provided). Second, Nintendo has beated their own projection before. The Nintendo Wii was projected to sell 14 million for fiscal year 2007. Actual sales were 18.6 million. Nintendo beat projections by 4.6 million units. So Nintendo's projection can be conservative. Analyst are saying 10 million is too low.
So let's do some math.
US - The Switch is selling 10 percent more than the Wii. https://pvplive.net/c/nintendo-switch-sales-beating-wii-sales-by-10-perc
Nintendo sold 8.24 million Wiis in 2007. 10 percent more than that would be exactly 9 million.
Japan - Looking at Media Create, the Switch is selling 26K right now a weak. Now, it will likely be higher as more games come out, but let's go with this for now. But even at that level its 1.4 million in total. Now, Switch was selling around 40K a week in the first few weeks, so its safe to say those sales are achievable if there are enough titles (and we have Splatoon and MH coming to the system). SO if we take 40K and times it by 52 weeks, we get 2 million sales. The Switch could still sell better as the Wii sold 3.9 million in FY 2007.
Europe - Right now, the Switch is selling about 60K a week according to VGChartz. Times this by 52 and we get 3.1 million. For reference, the Wii sold 6.7 million in "Other" in 2007.
So lets add them up: 2 + 9 + 31 gets us at 14.1 million. This is right about the number you said. This is also not considering seasonality or big releases in Japan or Europe. These sales will likely be slightly higher. 15-16 million would be about right. Sony is projecting 18 million shipped this FY, but this is year 4 for the system and with more competition, that number may be a bit high. So no, Nintendo beating Sony is not unrealistic. If order for it to not happen, A)Sony has to ship at least what they say they will (of course, this is just to stores, not customers), B)Nintendo can't produce at the same levels they did in 2007 and C)There will be no seasonal increase in sales.

ill do avatar control for a month, and i would like to use official sell through numbers for calendar year 2018 from both nintendo and sony |
Nice, that's what I wanted too. Also, I made a mistake, we'll get 2018 numbers in April 2019. So it's gonna be a long, long wait!
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I would be surprised if Switch wins. The Wii sold 17 million 1st year which is what PS4 does right now. The Switch is selling 10% more now but I do not think that will be the case forever.
So I say PS4 2017
Switch will beat the PS4 every year after 2017
I believe this because I expect the PS5 to release next holiday of 2018. I know people will call me crazy but I am not! (Unless I am wrong then I am crazy)

Then mario kart comes along and breaks all sorts of records. I would suggest you don't comment on something you clearly know nothing about.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Really? I would suggest not only it's the other way around but also considering you are the 1 throwing childish insults around, i would suggest you are the 1 that needs to grow up. You also need to learn not to get triggered for no reason.

My vote goes to the PS4.
Switch exclusive and 3rd party software is heavily focused on JP support exception being Mario, Splatoon, Skyrim, and Fifa. We'll have to see how Fifa and Skyrim does on the platform to gauge EU support, if sales are strong it'll do fine there, if sale are meh, it's going to fall behind 3DS launch sales. I also don't think the $299 price is going to assist the Switch at all. 3DS started off very well, but the $250 priced killed momentum until it hit $169. Switch is a better value in comparison, but price : performance is always king. There's also the supply issue.
Meanwhile PS4 however, won't have a supply problem, and when it comes to software it has some global megahits coming with Uncharted, Destiny 2, Assassins' Creed, COD, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Gran Turismo Sport. The big ace PS4 also has is a potential price drop down to $199 (even if it's temporary). That will seal the deal for the PS4's win.
I think this is a peak year for PS4, especially if we see a $199 base model.
NA: 6.5m
EU: 7.5m
JP: 2m
RoW: 2.5m
18.5m
Nintendo will do well, but it completely depends on supply and if sales stay up in NA and EU after the launch hype wears off and the $299 price is now in the hands the less faithful Nintendo gamers.
NA: 4.5m (selling behind PS4 / XBO in their first 2 months, but it has launch sales + holiday sales to help)
EU: 3.5m (it's selling slightly above XBO numbers, which launched in significantly less countries)
JP: 4m - 5m (Japanese support is going to be amazing Year 1 if all games make it)
RoW: 1m
13m - 14m
Might as well do XB since I'm here. Scorpio will help pick up sales, but sales will be on the decline the entire time until Scorpio launches and hopefully a $199 XBOs as well.
NA: 5.5m
EU: 3m
JP: 20k
RoW: 1.5m
10m (their best year of sales, but still behind the competition)
Depends on stock to be honest. Sony is aiming for 17 million while Nintendo for 10 million. No way in hell is there gonna even be enough switches made to outsell the PS4. So ps4 wins by default no contest whatsoever
