Huh, not remotely close. This is the 5th sort of mainline entry called Monster Hunter Generations. Monster Hunter Generations only really has X and XX

Of those XX now has 3DS version and Switch Version.

I was hoping for MH 5 but goddammit, this took me by surprise. Not the game, mind you, but how soon it was announced.Japan is garanteed to be a Nintendo market, if it wasnt already. It got me thinking now, will this run on Unreal?Given the "20 games in development using Unreal in Japan", Capcom could very well be using Unreal for this to get the MH team accoustommed to it( and already make an asset or two) for MH 5.

Edit: May be talking shit, since I dont know if a (mostly lazy Im assuming) port could use a completely different engine in which I also assume for a game that had a small development time.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Smart move by Capcom, but they should've had this ready for Switch launch.

With the switch stock issues....... would be better to release it after Splatoon 2.

Pros and cons go both ways I suppose. Early on they probably would've managed an easy 500k in extra sales like Bomberman did, but later on the userbase is larger but so is the game library (ARMS, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, other third party titles, etc.).

a game like Monster Hunter i dont think really has to worry about competition from other games.

If it was a completely new MH game maybe, but this will be a bit of an older port by the time it releases on Switch.

They probably could've scored an extra 250k-300k in sales if they had it at launch or 2-3 weeks after launch (simultaneously release with 3DS version).

Anyways, better late than never, I think they made a mistake in missing that launch window though.

Konami was the only other developer with a "new" game for the Switch window that wasn't pandered completely to the "oh it's a Nintendo system, lets crap out another Wii-era title" line of thinking (Skylanders, Just Dance). As such Bomberman cleaned up.

If any of these other devs had taken this launch seriously they'd have made good money. SNK/Neo Geo guys are probably very happy too ... made a bunch of money off basically ROM dumps ... you look at Sega and wonder what they could have made with Sonic 1/2/3, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, After Burner, Outrun, Ecco, etc.
