Weed kills people indirectly.

How so? I mean if you are talking about driving, then you may as well ban alcohol as well. Obviously there will be laws in place so as to prevent this.

It can cause cancer. It affects motor functions.

Nor have I asserted that Alcohol is good either.

Actually it can help cure, alleviate and reduce symptoms of numerous types of cancers. It was meant to be used as medicine. The article below will provide peer reviewed studies that back up my claim.

I haven't taken medication to help deal with my anxiety problems because I'm afraid of becoming addicted,

First of, it's not your anxiety, just anxiety. First step is to not speak that over yourself. Secondly, do not let anxiety get out of control because then you can end up developing depresonnalization/ derealization which is like living in Hell on a daily basis. You don't need those prescription drugs either. GABA will get it under control, if you are having lots of attacks. It's like a natural Ativan and a hell of alot cheaper without the dopey feeling. Here's a pick. You don't have to get this brand, any will do but make sure it is the powder as it will stop a bad attack within 10 minutes.

Once again, fundamental difference. You're thinking about something has is essential to our society, and something that is not and can only harm people. Drugs WILL harm you over time, especially the ones I stated over time. I do not think any drugs with the exception of weed should be legalized simply because of the risks.

No, I'm not. I included guns & alcohol. Neither of those is essential to society and both of those are something that can only harm people. You've just got a massive double standard here, saying some things should be illegal for one reason, yet also saying that exact same reason shouldn't apply to other things...

But alcohol won't kill anyone unless you drive in a car, or somehow are able to drink so much that you destroy your liver (which takes years). I won't get into guns, as that is an issue you and I could debate forever, and frankly I just don't have it in me anymore to type caps on the internet for hours at a time anymore.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Smoking it which is the most common form of consumption causes cancer.
It contains over 50 of the same carcinogens as Tobacco. And because you tend to breath it in more deeply, those carcinogens can be more severe.
Any smoke/particulate you breath in -is- inherently bad for you.

Medical Cannabis is a completely different scenario, especially in oil form where it has a myriad of positive effects.

Also, Marijuana wasn't "meant" for anything. It's a plant, it's not like it decided on such a career path.

There has to be limit though. You can't just allow heroin or meth to be sold legally on the street. I mean weed won't kill anyone, but there are plenty of drugs that will, and I see no reason drugs that are dealy should be on the streets.

Not on the street. But in properly licensed, regulated and taxed drug shops... why not?

The same reason why we don't sell deadly poison to people. Hard drugs kill people and in general do more harm than good, there are very few responsble hard drug users. Why do you think most 80's rockstars die at the age of 50/60. Drugs can permanently damage a human body and are made to be addicted to. If anything I support making more things illegal like sigarets.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Never neither was anyone in fam or even immediate fam, we were not raised weak.

The idea of a drug ruling our life is a joke. All it a disease or addiction is bs imo, its just weakness.

All druggies addicts whatever belong in jail.

This would be very nice and all, if it wasn't very wrong and very ignorant:

http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/news/20170412/many-opioid-addictions-surface-after-surgery-study-finds

Most addicts were not weak, and their addiction is not even the outcome of their own responsibility/action. A very good number of opioid addicts were prescribed opioids for post-surgery rehabilitation. This could have been your father, your sister, you.

Ignorance is not an excuse for stupidity.

Why a thread about drug addiction on a gaming analysis forum??
Should we also discuss animal protection and solar eruptions here? :D hehe

There are offtopic sections that aren't related to video games like politics, general discussion, music, movies, etc.

You know the USA had a famous case of prohibition during the 1920s and 30s and you can see how well that turned out.  Prohibition doesn't solve anything.  How much more money do we have to waste on the "war on drugs" before we realize that it isn't working?  You might as well run a private prison because your line of reasoning is what made USA number one in incarceration.
