One game didn't sell well. That's not a decline.

EDIT: Thread title needs changing.

Well, it certainly didn't help the perception of the franchise!

I don't think it had any effect on the perception of the franchise at all.

Really? I see a whole bunch of people on the internet shitting on the game.

Guys, it's capcom.. The same company that gauged interest on a dark stalkers sequel by.... releasing a port of 20 year old games, with nothing new added to them other than a new mode-select screen.

This Street Fighter experiment is extremely stupid, and doesn't surprise me in the slightest. If I want a new game, why would I buy a 25 year old game? Who even comes up with this stupid logic?

"They bought a new console?" Well, if they want to see what we can do with that new tech, they better buy our old stuff first!"

Seriously, after marvel vs. capcom infinite, I've got nothing from capcom that I'm interested in.

Because people will be really eager to pay on SF II more than you have to pay to get SF V now. It has a nostalgia appeal, but it's overpriced. The recent fighting game ports by SNK (Garou, Last Blade 2) launched for US$ 15 while packing trophies, extras and online multiplayer.

Yeah, not the franchise.

oh man, capcom is so stupid

Clearly people don't read before they type shit. It was a mistranslation. Nothing is banking on the sales of this game.

really glad this turned out to be a mistranslation if they expected people to buy that game for 40.... it's a damn tough sell and I love Street fighter 2, that's just too high an entry price for that game.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Well, there was also the Street Fighter X Tekken fiasco, and the high price of this game certainly isn't doing it any favours either!

I knew something was off from that original translation. Capcom help support the Switch for Nintendo, would have been odd for Capcom to drop support from just one game lol
