Forums - Gaming Discussion - How FPS franchises are trending in sales

Fps games will never lose their luster.  People just want a new franchises with a fresh take on the genre. It's obvious that overwatch wasn't on this list and neither is destiny. Of course one is getting a sequel and we don't know about the other, but we can assume these are franchises in the making.

Around the Network

Doesn't include Far Cry: Primal in his FPS analysis, because he feels it's more action-adventury even though it's first person, and primarily involves using projectile based weapons.

Doesn't include some of the most popular FPSs in recent years because he decided to use franchises, and plot them by title instead of by release year, so at best, all he's showing in individual trends within a handful of franchises, so it doesn't actually show any trends at all within the genre itself.

Doesn't include a handful of games from the Battlefield series, like  Battlefield: 1943 and Battlefield: Hardline, because no reason.

Does include the Halo 3:ODST and Halo: Reach, even though by his own criteria, they're spin-offs.

Does include Resident Evil 7 in his TPS analysis, even though it's not in any way third person because most of the series is third person.

Doesn't include games released on handhelds because apparently they don't count

Please keep doing these charts.  They're hilarious.
