Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Edge gives Mario Kart Wii 6/10, are we in for polarized scoring?

9 seems kinda high for No More Heroes...great game but more than a point flawed.

they gave double dash a 5/10, so they arent really fans of mk.

They gave Mario Kart DS and 8/10 but that game's average was 90% on GameRankings so they still gave it a lower score than average.

It's one bad review, no need to make it out to be more than it is. It's at 90% on metacritic right now with five reviews (not counting Edge). That gives it five good reviews to one bad. While I do think there will be more reviewers that score it lower, I don't think it'll be quite as polarized as Edge.

My magazine gave MK Wii a 94 % for mulitplayer and a 87 % for single player, so I have no doubt that this game will turn out great. Nice from you to make fans unsure about the game though, Legend.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

probably deserved it

I am sure it deserve considering it is missing options that where available since part 1! Having gimpy controls for the regular controllers just added insult to injury. To think I almost bought a Wii for this game. Sorry if I sound bitter but it really pissed me off that they omitted co-op grand prix. This was my most wanted game for this year and Nintendo managed to go backwards unlike their other series.

I love how it "deserves" the one 6/10 while all the 80s and higher are ignored.

Probably deserves it.

Remember people, edge is a Harsh reviewer.

I don't think Mario Kart deserves a 9 or even an 8 for taking out co-op GP mode and turning battle mode into another mindless FPSesque respawn fest.

Unless the gameplay turns out to be ridiculiously improved.

Even then i don't think i can forgive them if it really is true they took out the "stock" battle mode.

I kinda thought everyone was expecting this tbh?? I've known for over a month from IGN podcasts that the game is being made into a casual crossover game (ie retaining core gameplay while making itself casual accessible).

The reviewers who want the old pure Mario Kart are going to be dissapointed because its not what they want and they will rate it low because they have no concept of what the average Joe Likes (you only have to look at the Wii Sports review scores to see that).

Good point.  I will wait for the release before I get pissed off.
