Forums - Gaming Discussion - The lowest possible PC settings vs what Nin. Switch has: Overwatch discussion

Blizzard doesn't care about Nintendo.

I don't think there's much debate that OW could be made to run on the Switch, even a PS3/360 port should be possible. The issue is whether Blizzard are a) willing to maintain a 4th platform (one technically independent from the others), and b) if they're fine with people potentially playing it on the go over 3G and 4G. If they're fine with both of those, then we'll probably see a port eventually.

An ancient GTX 460 still is twice as fast as Tegra X1 devices higher clocked than a Switch:

Would have been more comparable if you used Linux (on which Android is based of) instead of Windows for the 460. It will lose quite a lot of it's advantage there because of the drivers being so much worse

I have no doubts the Switch can run Overwatch; the concern is porting an always online game to a portable gaming system.

If the gamers don't want it, it's a non-issue.

I don't remember where, but I think Jeff has stated his reason for not bringing Overwatch to the Switch.

I think he said something along the lines of maintaining each version of the game since they all kind of exist in their own ecosystems.  They have to work with PSN and XBL separately with their patches and maintenances and they aren't ready to add another one to their agendas because they're already busy with what they have.   (Meaning issue a is a factor in why they have no plans right now)

I think they might bring the game over to the Switch if A) Nintendo's online is received at least decently (and hopefully has voice chat capabilities as it is a big part of the game) and B) The platform has a large enough userbase to jusitfy the costs.

Oh dear...460 is quite a bit faster than 4850 and they both literally embarrass 4400.

In addition, PC minimum specs are never actually minimum specs, most games will run on much weaker hardware then specified...it's just a cut-off point for publishers not wanting to deal with support.

Exactly. You think the Xbox 360 and PS3 were above min specs by the end of the generation?

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

It has the specs to run it, but does the Switch have the right market?

I'd definitely will be interested if Overwatch came to the Switch, but can't say so for everyone D:
