Midgen updates hold back by current gen console who would have imagined that. There is a reason why Scorpio and Pro are mainly GPU boosts (and some other wissles for the Scorpio). That is to improve graphics not to double the framerate.

People love to complain about everything. I still think that the decision of letting developer use higher fps on multiplayer games on Scorpio (so it wouldn't be "held back" like the Pro is) could create a PR disaster for MS.
60fps, 4K, AA, bla, bla, bla... I miss the times when people played games without caring for any of this stuff. As long as it was playable, people would enjoy it. Nowadays, Ocarina of Time would surely get a 70 meta because it had framerate issues. Shadow of Colossus would probably get a 55.
Tech evolves, companies created mid-gen upgrades for people that have 4K sets. That's it, just a sharper image for your TV. I'm not even sure we will get these upgrades in the next gen, since they aren't really flying off the shelves.
