Wouldn't the worst received entry be Majora's Mask? In any case, the lack of a big game this year means that BotW probably will win. And remember Windwaker, Galaxy 1 and 2 didn't win the most GotY awards either.

Don't know why you brought up Mario.  Though or aht it is worth, Galaxy came out in 2007, a really stacked year.

There are so many great games released in 2017 which could be GOTY. For me it's most likely going to be either Tekken 7 or Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy.

Bringing Mario in because you're using average score. And I'm looking at GameRankings which puts SS above MM. Metacritic only has 25 reviews for MM.

I think we're all in agreement that the highest meta score doesn't guarantee GotY.

Every mainline Zelda has sold over 3 million, all but two have sold over 4 million, and Breath of the Wild is the fastest selling entry ever with already over 3.2 million sold across both Wii U and Switch in less than 3 months.  Oh and every remaster has sold millions too.  And nearly every spinoff has sold millions.  And the IP has over 80 million sales under its belt.  But yeah, sure, it's niche. 

Yeah you proved my point. 3 million. Even indie games Rocket league and super meat boy have sold as much.

4 Million is an excellent number for a AAA game.
