I can't imagine another game winning GoTY. It's just so highly praised and already loved which is quite rare

Hands down its gonna be Zelda BOTW for sure. No matter what would have been released this year, Zelda was just a milestone in so many ways. Don't get me wrong Horizon, Persona and probably Super Mario Odyssey are outstanding and brilliant games or will be regarding Super Mario, but Zelda has set a new standard in Open-world games.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Metascores have little to nothing to with who gets all the GOTY awards. Unless you decide only by metascore but then this thread doesn't make any sense because RDR2 would've never gotten a 97 or higher.

Wasn't aware Gears of War got that many. Just that Twilight Princess did get a very significant cut.

And Skyward Sword still got several as the worst received entry in the series after going 3D despite competing against Skyrim (among the best received western RPGs at the time), Arkham City (the best Arkham game), and Uncharted 3 which I don't need to explain. Just saying, most franchises would kill to have their B game bring them in numerous awards :P

Wouldn't the worst received entry be Majora's Mask? In any case, the lack of a big game this year means that BotW probably will win. And remember Windwaker, Galaxy 1 and 2 didn't win the most GotY awards either.

Everything has with GOTY, metascore, critical receptions, industry receptions, users receptions, how big game is...at end how good game is compared to other games, and obviously Zelda BotW is great game and actually one of best games ever. So I relly understand how you can say that Zelda BotW want be even in top 3 games for Nintendo this year when obiovusly only Mario Odyssey has some chanche to be better game.
