How did Disney copy anime? You're just making things up. Disney's basic animation has been the same since the 40s. It's 2017, info is easy to come by. You're making yourself look foolish

He is wildly exaggerating. (So are you.) However, The Lion King definitely has an awful lot in common with Kimba the White Lion.

Initially, manga writers used Disney for their characters, then came the time they moved to copying Don Bluth's works. Eventually, we caught notice of this and the copying came full circle. Now we have things like Frozen and Miraculous Ladybug... And Overwatch...

Nah i'd give it to the west.

Though pretty unfair to compare a 1 country to a region of the world.

Now now, ff15 is actually quite impressive considering the development hell it went through.

definitely wouldnt use it to exemplify great development though.

So what was the western masterpeice this year? Or what was the last good western singleplayer in general if you take Sony IPs out?

So even you can't say with a straight face that western games are bad unless you start cherry picking to disqualify things?

I can take Nintendo out for example and the naritive would still be true for Japanese games. Also its funny how the best western games this Gen where mostly published by Japanese companies: Sony, Square Enix, Sega. Maybe better Work ethic?

Nah, what's sad was your attempt to try and downplay anime in the first place

I didn't downplay anime. I love anime but anyone with a brain knows their artist copied disney's style of animation. But tell yourself otherwise. By all means show me the style they were doing in the 40s and 50s lmao. Alot of anime today still looks like Disney from the 40s and 50s

Everyone is influenced by something.Disney are influenced by the work of others, and animes are influenced by others two. You both get over it, for gods sake

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

There's nothing to get over. Try reading the convo guy. All I said was early Japanese anime artist copied Disney and the guy from Japan got butt hurt over.

I quit at the point when The Last Guardian's 10-year-development got praised.

I dismissed the whole video when they have Final Fantasy XV in the thumbnail. It is evident if you are going to make a point on development, you don't use something so incomplete, took forever, and plagued with development issues to illiustrate said point.

I'm not even going to watch the video, and I going to assume it takes fricken noise dive from things like you said right away.

What does that have to do with anything? The game was good and sold well.

As for JP vs West arguments, I'd argue that the internet has better enabled the cream to rise to the top and these games are getting recognized early enough to the deserved attention.

Because what you said wasnt entirely true, and if I you said something untrue about something I liked, I would also responded. And he is english, not japanese. Now, get over it.

Japan has spit out some good games recently for sure but damn do these guys try way too hard.

They criticise western games for getting post-launch patches (and rightfully so in many cases) but the very first game they show in the video, Final Fantasy XV, had patches with story elements added later. I guess some are fine with that but that's the main reason for why I haven't bought the game yet, because I sure as hell won't start playing the game until the story is "finished" and all cut-scenes are added.

They took a shot at Horizon for using towers to unveil the map but that mechanic is in Breath of the Wild as well. And they say it's not that original and bring up collectibles and side-quests and them cluttering the world map or whatever to prove their points? Get the fudge out.

They talk about how Activision won't have a game in development for ten years as if having a messed up development cycle is a good thing. How is a game taking ten years to finish a positive!? Sure, completing games before releasing them is a very nice thing to do but ten bloody years? And in Final Fantasy XV's case (don't know about The Last Guardian) you still got patches!

What story elements were patched in?
