Great news. This will act as a semi next gen consoles than just a basic boost.

You are being way too hopefull with that. At the end of the day the tech used to run the game will be the same on Xbox one and Scorpio. It will be the same engines and will run the exact same games. There will be visual improvements for sure. But it surely won't be generational leap.

Aren't we past the point of generational leaps in general? Is it even possible for the next generation to have an immediately noticeable and drastic increase in graphics?

Looks at a open  world game on ps3..

Look at horizon.

Jup,generation leap!!

Ps5 will be what 10-12 tflop..you think  we won't  see any change  from 1.9?

Funny.

Actually, weren't a lot of people disappointed in the leap from the PS3 to the PS4, because a lot of them felt like it wasn't a big enough of a jump? I thought that's why we got the Pro in the first place. And with the Pro/Scorpio, I just don't see the next gen having a huge advantage in graphics.

Let see what is going to happen but I don't expect developers to choose 60fps on multiplayer for scorpio while the base console stay at 30fps. I can see that on single player which is what the ps4 had tried to do on some games.

PC has no issues even if someone is 20fps and another gamer is 200fps.

I am just hoping Scorpio games will mostly be 60 FPS.

How many huge multiplayer games target 30fps any longer besides Destiny and Gears of War 4's horde mode, though? Overwatch, Battlefront, Battlefield, Call of Duty, and most others I can think of all target 60fps, so this won't change that target, as Scorpio will likely just run them more smoothly, as the Pro does. Unless developers want to run those games at unlocked framerates that go over 60, ha.

How about a huge advantage in physics and moving elements on screen. Unless next gen has a potato as CPU again. Generational leaps are mostly defined y new game engines, made possible by a clean start on more powerful hardware. This gen brought physics based rendering which made the weather effects possible in DriveClub. As well as the move from static worlds to the wind realisticly effecting the environment. Lighting has improved dramatically as well as the density of detail, draw distances, character animation. In motion this gens games are a huge leap over last gen, it didn't happen overnight at release, which is the norm.

Destructible terrain, accumulating / blowing snow, realistic mud, flowing water, dynamic puddles, ray tracing, there's still many things that can be improved and show a generational leap over a largely non interactive / static world like HZD. It just needs a better CPU. Ofcourse if next gen still needs to run the games on the potatos of this gen, not much of that will happen.

Only if Jaguar Core Next @ 2.3 GHz is 100% faster than old Jaguar @ 1,75 GHz

Which doesn't seem likely.

What?

Don't forget it brought the likes of Tessellation, Ambient Occlusion and massively increase particle effects and more.

In regards to the CPU specifically, consoles have never really taken CPU performance seriously anyway, it's graphics that helps sell games so consoles tend to spend most of their cost budget on the GPU.

I dont play multy player ever, so I would like to know how big of a diference could a game in 30 and 60 be competitevly? is it big enough for devs to say hey, we need to separate x1 and scorpio players cuz its unfair? If so, would they then need to make separate servers?

If so, I doubt devs will take full advantage. I mean, sure, graphics will maybe be night and day, but frame rate will be tied to the x1 always. Right? Small pool of scorpio player to be alone anyways.
