Forums - Microsoft Discussion - No parity requirements on Scorpio versus Xbone

Sources are in the OP there. Microsoft has said this before and I was told it was incorrect, here they are confirming it again. So if you own a Scorpio, your experience may not be tied down too badly by the Xbone after all. I hope lots of developers take advantage of this.  The main reason I have 0 interest in the Pro is that there are parity rules for MP. As someone who plays way more MP than SP, it leaves little to no reason to upgrade.

Add to this the system wide support of supersampling for Scorpio utilized games, win win for everyone regardless of television.

Drop a Titan on me if old.

Nice, hopefully this will increase the presentation of PC games from here on out.

Xbox and pc Shared library from now on then.

Good. Scorpio shouldn't be held back by silly 30fps caps and HD resolutions anyway.

Great news. This will act as a semi next gen consoles than just a basic boost.

This is the type of unhealthy expectation the scorpio creates. The lead console of the generation creates the bottleneck. Consoles will always create a bottleneck for PC and there will always be a complaint.

As for the scorpio, it doesnt matter to me...really. If Microsoft puts out the games that can make good use of the fps differential then ill consider it as my multiplat console. Hopefully it is or else its value is just as high as the original Xbox which boasted superior visuals while lacking elsewhere. Cant deny the future proof nature of it has an allure. Lastly, its up to the devs. First party will do what they will but devs wont. I believe thats why Sony made the decision that they did.

I think no parity clause is for offline games, which even pro offers.. if scorpio has higher FPS even the multiplayer games then i think it will be considered a next gen console, as xbox and scorpio wont be playing together on the same server.

No developer would want a certain type of players to have advantage over other players on a fixed hardware system in the same session.

Well, just because there are no parity requirements doesn't mean that developers will take advantage of that.

Let see what is going to happen but I don't expect developers to choose 60fps on multiplayer for scorpio while the base console stay at 30fps. I can see that on single player which is what the ps4 had tried to do on some games.
