I shouldn't have said illegal because, as far as I've read, the charge that Nintendo's exclusive contracts were an anti-trust violation was never settled.  Still, they dropped those, probably to avoid future litigation, though that's a guess.  Or maybe they had an inkling that third-parties would leave them because of those contracts.  I believe EA said they were fully prepared to go PC-only rather than work under those conditions.  Or maybe they thought they had won the war and didn't need them.  Square said Nintendo let Final Fantasy go without a fight so maybe they felt untouchable.

Either way, it's kind of interesting.  Personally, I agree with the charge that they used those 2-year exclusive contracts to keep their monopoly.  It all became moot, anyway, though I can't help but wonder if the methods they used to gain power caused that power to decay faster than it should have.

lol wut. I didn't downplay the entire PS4 library. Do you wish to see my PS4 I got in 2015 and the games I have? I can easily show them to you. Out of the list at that time yeah only a few looked interesting for a 2017 release in December 2016. I have about 25 PS4 games physical. I do want to get a Switch but I am not going to yet because as I have said before in other places. PS4 has enough for me this year to be fine. There is a lot more I know about now. Sine Mora EX getting physical. Night Trap. Ys Origin. Wonder Boy III. Ys my fave series get's released later this year in Ys VIII. I have the 100 dollar CE pre ordered. Ni No Kuni II,Yakuza Kiwami plusTokyo Xanadu. I even importing from GAME in the UK Wipeout with the Steelbook since the US doesn't get it.getting RiME later as well. I have the Persona 5 take your heart edition. Odin Sphere HD CE. Imported last month Darius Burst CS for the full 60 bucks. Got Astebreed from Limited Run Games. Nier Automata. Yakuza 0. Gravity Rush 2 this year.

This thread is one of those that normally would have gotten about 7 replies saying stuff like "im hyped" and "cant wait" and then it would have sunk into the abyss of forgotten threads, yet here we are on page 11 and its a pretty "interesting" read.

I knew someone salty was gonna reply to me. By the way if you read my comment I said that others were doing it before so I didn't call Sony a copycat for this. I just said that Nintendo made it popular which you are lying to yourself if it didn't I mean I and many people didn't even know Sony had live streams since 2012 even though I frequent video gaming sites a lot but almost every video game news outlet reports on Ninth treehouse because it is popular. Hell even now I didn't see any news outlet reporting on this only the op one so that's what I said. I didn't say ninth was the first to do it I said they made it popular and you just pasted a reply like you would to the guy who just said Sony copycat which  you were ready to make this reply to any post without reading it.
