I know they were atleast doing it in 2014 because I remember seeing the little stage they had set up for it in person and 2014 was the last year I went to E3. That was after Nintendo made their treehouse stuff a thing (iirc) but it isn't a new thing this year by any means.

The treehouse stuff started in 2014 as well:

In 2014, they started to have livestreams on Nintendo games on top of Nintendo Directs, due to the success of their E3 stream

If anything, the current treehouse seems to have been inspired by Sony Sony did livestreama first.

That may be, I honestly was always focused on Sony stuff when I was at E3 so I only vagely remember treehouses as a thing but not when they started.

Oh my god, I can't wait. Sony is going to be dropping some serious bombs this year. If push comes to shove, this could literally be Sony's greatest E3 in PlayStation history.

gonna be tough to top 2013 and 2015.  Then again maybe this an odd numbered year thing.

Call me crazy, but didn't sony do this last year too.....

and unless I am eally crazy... has this kinda been the thing for quite a number of e3s back? nintendo just names something that everyone ws already doing... and did away with a live press conference.

How far back?

Lets see.... if by "treehouse" we are talking about devs talking over b-roll footage of their game or a dev sitting on a couch and playing the game while another dev talks over what he is doing. (which is basically what a nintendo treehouse thingy is)

Then this may shock some people, but its been around since 2005 when we had to buy a DVD set called E3 Access. And sony, MS and nintend has done it at every e3 since.

What nintendo did was just cut out the presser, rename those talkovers or live showings to "treehouse" and funnelled everything through their won media group. Sony and MS in additions to having ther own "couches" for devs to sit and talk over their game also lets IGN, gamespot...etc gets devs on their own couches too.

But hey... I amy have just dreamed all this up and could very well be wrong. so don't take my word for it.

I can't wait to see how much weight Meredith Molinari has gained this year.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I'm gonna take your word for it anyways. Hope you don't mind.

Use your detective skills and google it

Since the Nintendos Treehouse success. I was pretty sure it wouldn't take long for Sony to do the same.

I'm not sure ... are you making a joke?

Lol nope, they're being totally serious. Nintendo invented everything didn't you know? And people on this forum truly believe that.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Eh, I find very little of interest in these streams outside the conferences. Sometimes you'll get more insight into games with devs on the couch, but often its just reiterating what's already known.

in other words prepare ur butts we are dropping bombs back to back this e3.
