Must we resort to this?

Right. Still, you made reference to illegal tactics that hurt Sega.

What tactics were you referring to?

Uh ... huh?  I thought we were having a conversation but ... huh?  I guess we haven't actually been communicating?  Odd.  Unless you're trying to do some 'console warz' thing, in which case you completely fooled me.  Congrats, I guess.  How disappointing.

We are having a conversation. During this conversation, I asked you a question regarding a reference you made to illegal tactics Nintendo employed which hurt Sega. At this point, I'm wondering what these once-illegal-now-not-assuredly-illegal tactics were and how they hurt Sega.

Help me out here.

Resort to what? Nintendo fans, including you have been saying extremely arrogant things and bait-y things, derailing the thread. That first sentence from OP should already be removed since people don't know what they're talking about.

I don't get what you're trying to say.  If you don't believe Nintendo's 2-year exclusive contracts and history of cut-throat business practices contributed to their monopoly then just say so.  We can just disagree, it's as simple as that.

I don't deny that 2-year exclusive contracts and cut-throat business practices can contribute towards a monopoly. It's just this article, http://articles.latimes.com/1991-04-11/business/fi-359_1_nintendo-game , unless I've misread it, seems to make no mention of such practices. Seems to only discuss price fixing.

No, that's from the famous Atari lawsuit about the lockout chip.

The jury was unable to reach verdicts on the question of whether Nintendo's licensing agreement was an unreasonable restraint of trade, or whether this program was the means by which Nintendo acquired monopoly power.

Judge Fern M. Smith, who presided over the trial, granted a mistrial on those two counts and said she still was considering Nintendo's request to dismiss them.

'We are disappointed the jury did not understand the negative impacts Nintendo's exclusive contracts had on competition because of Nintendo's power over its suppliers and customers,' said William Jaeger, an attorney representing Atari.

I did find out something amusing, though.  Regarding the antitrust fine Nintendo was levied in the EU:

"Every year, millions of European families spend large amounts of money on video games," Competition Commissioner Mario Monti said.

"They have the right to buy the games and consoles at the lowest price the market can possibly offer.

"We will not tolerate... behaviour intended to keep prices artificially high in the European single market."

Huh that's weird, I remember you as the guy who downplayed almost the whole entire PS4 library and said "im gonna get a switch", so I wonder whose mistaken.

Resort to what? Nintendo fans, including you have been saying extremely arrogant things and bait-y things, derailing the thread. That first sentence from OP should already be removed since people don't know what they're talking about.

lol wut. I didn't downplay the entire PS4 library. Do you wish to see my PS4 I got in 2015 and the games I have? I can easily show them to you. Out of the list at that time yeah only a few looked interesting for a 2017 release in December 2016. I have about 25 PS4 games physical. I do want to get a Switch but I am not going to yet because as I have said before in other places. PS4 has enough for me this year to be fine. There is a lot more I know about now. Sine Mora EX getting physical. Night Trap. Ys Origin. Wonder Boy III. Ys my fave series get's released later this year in Ys VIII. I have the 100 dollar CE pre ordered. Ni No Kuni II,Yakuza Kiwami plusTokyo Xanadu. I even importing from GAME in the UK Wipeout with the Steelbook since the US doesn't get it.getting RiME later as well. I have the Persona 5 take your heart edition. Odin Sphere HD CE. Imported last month Darius Burst CS for the full 60 bucks. Got Astebreed from Limited Run Games. Nier Automata. Yakuza 0. Gravity Rush 2 this year.

Well it looked like you were downplaying the PS4 library, can't change my opinion on that so w/e.

Jesus I mistook you for KLXVER/Mar1217, you 3 have similar avatrs with the white background with a cartoony middle. My bad.

But anyways, that definitely doesn't change that what they said was so arrogant and bait-y. "Sony coping Nintendo" blah blah.
