Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's New Character Designs Feel A lot More Capcom/Sega-ish

Yup, it's just the fact that fresh blood and talent is entering the company. A natural progression if I've ever seen one. The benefit is, the younger generation has a pool of older ideas/ art styles to pull from once they feel their work is becoming stale. It's a never ending cycle. But man...Twintelle... she on a whole nother league. I can't believe Nintendo okayed this thang ALMOST puts Onion to shame.

It's one of the most tame character designs I've seen get fawned over.

I guess that quick switch is what gets people riled up. I was having this same discussion on another forum not knowing why the sudden obession over characters that actually have butt and boobs from Nintendo.

I don't really see how they look Capcom/Sega-ish... But Nintendo's more recent games are quite a bit different from their old stuff. I suppose you can say it's from the new blood/ changes in art and style these days, which I suppose is natural. I dig these new character designs though.

Have you looked at the newest Street Fighter? Twintelle looks like a fanart of C. Viper.

Well, I've known of C.Viper since her reveal, and she didn't come to mind when I saw Twintelle. I suppose they have a few similarities?

I find the style very similar to the new SF games and Asura's Wrath. That's what I was trying to get across.

Agreed, Twintelle has to be the sexiest character to ever come from a Nintendo game.

Ehem, Camilla?

It also seems the newer younger designers have more freedom these days.
If it was up to Miyamoto, all characters in Arms would have been Miis.

Edit: Double Post: Website was glitching on me.

To be honest, I actually prefer their newer style over the old one.

Their old style is the one that dominated the industry with PS2 like vengence. So, it's hard to argue that their newer style is better in terms of sales and commercial appeal.
