Well, she may be more thicc, but I thought that Samus wasn't too bad herself?
Yeah, Samus ain't too bad. I started a thread a while back that pitted Samus against other female lead characters and she won. But man, my eyes don't lie. She's too tame and clueless compared to Twintelle
Tame and cluless? She's exterminated entire races and destroyed planets!

I know man, but I'm talking looks she look too tame my boy. Her actions say otherwise, sure.
I'm talking more about the EAD/EPD group, so Metroid doesn't fit there, but F-Zero, ok, granted they haven't made an F-Zero game in almost 20 years (speaking of EAD).
lol no. New technology and changing trends will of course have an impact in Nintendo's artstyle, obviously. But they don't feel like Capcom/Sega designs, more like the other way around.
Just a few more things:
Splatoon is pure Nintendo design but with todays culture and tech in mind, still unlike any other company. Nothing worth disscussing.
Why only use SMB3 as the NES example? There were plenty games made by Nintendo on the NES with vastly different art styles.
How is Arms artstyle that much different from Super Punchout or Mario Kart?
Also, the 90s feeling? Theres no monopoly on that and plenty companies has done it in the past, including Nintendo. Hence the previous example.
I think you are getting confused by the specularity.
“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).
"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)
Yup, it's just the fact that fresh blood and talent is entering the company. A natural progression if I've ever seen one. The benefit is, the younger generation has a pool of older ideas/ art styles to pull from once they feel their work is becoming stale. It's a never ending cycle. But man...Twintelle... she on a whole nother league. I can't believe Nintendo okayed this thang ALMOST puts Onion to shame.
I don't really see how they look Capcom/Sega-ish... But Nintendo's more recent games are quite a bit different from their old stuff. I suppose you can say it's from the new blood/ changes in art and style these days, which I suppose is natural. I dig these new character designs though.
