Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumour: Scalebound is back in development

Even if its true, I dont like this. What game that passed through this kind of a mess turned out great? Not to mention that it seems that the team is completely different.

And the game was already taking a bad turn to multiplayer. If this is a MS team, the chances that they double down on multiplayer is high. And that is terrible.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

"led by and entrusted to an important "close" MS team"

No PG, no thanks.

The only thing exciting about Scalebound was that PG was behind it. I dont want a design by committee, run off the mill WRPG developed by a boring Western studio.

MS loves games as a service model, so if this rumor was real, expect a multiplayer game like The Division.

Scalebound without Platinum and Kamiya? ==> differnt game.

Still Im curious to see how it turns out.

I am a bit skeptical of the validity of the person, but even if the person was right, I can't help but think of Duke Nukem Forever, which turned out to be shit!

From Microsoft's perspective they had probably already sunk 10's of millions into developing Scalebound, so taking some of the money they had already invested and trying to bring it to us in another form is probably financially wise.

Doesn't bother me if another company develops it, provided they stick to the original premise.

They probably found that Scalebound trademark this month and made this up. Think of the shitstorm MS would get if they give it to other developer and it would be massive waste of money. I think Microsoft just renewed the trademark so nobody could get the IP.

It would be funny though if Phil Spencer trip to Japan was because to get every asset of Scalebound :P

Trademark is not Copyright.

if true, it doesn't bode well for how much else MS have coming up

It would make no sense to reboot/continue the project. That way they'd only bleed more money.

I don't know what to think about this... People are going to be very sceptical about this game.

Oh great, now I have to pretend that I am interested in the Xbox brand again.

Pretending to pretend isn't good enough?
