Forums - Nintendo Discussion - ARMS global Testpunch

Nintendo really learned a lot from Splatoon:

Innovative and quirky new IP, online multiplayer focus, test demo events in the month leading up to the launch and a substantial amount of free DLC. Splatoon and Arms are the new Nintendo.

I suspect this will be something they'll do with all their new I.P's going forward. I also suspect the Nintendo employee who came up with the Global Test X concept got a raise.

Nice. Not only is Nintendo more open to betas, but also free DLC. Wonder if they'll do this for something other than new IPs someday. Besides Splatoon and now Arms, AFAIK, there was only the Smash for 3DS demo from Nintendo itself, and the Pokemon Demos (ORAS and S&M) from GameFreak.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Amazing. I'm relieved to see they pushing this game. It deserves to become a successful IP.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I've been waiting for them to announce this and they've done it! I didn't expect the free post launch updates though. Very nice.

Good Direct.Im just really dissapointed that there is no campaign. That will probably prevent me from buying this game at the very least at full price.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Tbh, Nintendo is doing things... great lately. I don't have anything to complain. Keep the good work, Ninty!

Clearly Nintendo likes the Splatoon approach and will probably take to using it for new I.P's

Well, it worked. Why change a winning team ?

There is a campaing, isn't it? I mean, the GP mode, but I think I saw something like a... boss of sorts.

that was a good ass direct

Speaking of asses..Twintelle ;)

But yea that direct was pretty darn good. I like there's much more out there for ARMS and it even has more online modes than the original Splatoon offered with dedicated lobbies and such. The hoops mode is up my ally as a basketball fan, even the volleyball mode looks fun.

I have the oddest suspicion the face revealed for that boss will either

A: Be bizarre and loveable like the Splatoon boss

or

B: The face is a Nintendo character. Maybe this is what Judd does in his spare time.
