Here's the thing about Mighty Number 9 - Its not about Mighty Number 9.
At best MN9 is an average average average Mega Man game that reminds of Megaman 5 and definitely 6: Games that did nothing to advance the series forward. Mighty Number 9 does nothing to reinvigorate the Mega Man style platformer.
At worst it reminds me of that age of Mega Man when so many games were being released at a time; 5+ in one year that quality issues reared its ugly head. X5-X6 were soooo rushed they didn't even bother to get VA's or finish translating the game. Random Japanese text at places. They were very unpolished, but still enjoyable. That's the kinda feeling MN9 gives off.
Mighty goes beyond the game. Nobody hates Beck. MN9 was at the time the most prolific of crowd funded projects and Inafune/Comcept were on track to being to being leaders of thd indie scene and to see them squander all the energy, that money, that support is down right disappointing. Inafune/Comcept will never have that chance again. They could done what they set out to do and provd the Japanese industry you need to be stuck with big name publishers to successful. They blew it. They could have said fuck you CAPCOM. They blew it.
It you didnt back/buy/participate in MN9, you have no reason to act like you've been burned or let down. Those guys/girls who spent years on that KS page and ended up with what we got and lots still not received their backer rewards are the only ones that should be beating a dead hoarse.
