Well i dont know if thats part of the reason but in my case (and especially with this game) i never cared about portability, in fact playing outside only takes away from my enjoyment... the sounds of people talking in the backgrounds, the sound of cars passing by, the light of the sun reflecting or obscuring the screen, so many things that distract me, nothing like playing at home with no one and nothing to distract me and take away from my experience.

Also Disgaea is the type of game you play for overly long sessions of multiple hours, i wouldnt like being limited by the battery life of the thing and besides when i ever used any portable devices it was for small breaks and stuff like that (during work, College, School etc. and never in any of those did i had the time to play something like Disagea, which is better played if you have a giant amounts of time to invest in it in every session).

1st paragraph: I'm totally like you. I prefer to play games at home for the exact same reasons, especially on the main campaign of games where I want full attention.

2nd paragraph: I disagree. I think Disgaea is very versatile. For example: if you're playing the main campaign, you're probably gonna want to play many hours straight and have full attention, but if you're grinding through the Item World for the 298109223928390th time, you probably just do it mechanically. So doing that type of things while on the go is the perfect opportunity. And since this version is both home and portable, there is no denying it is the definitive/best one. Even if you only play at home 100% of the time, this version still offers an extra (and convenient for most people) option.

Or doing the grinding on handheld/tablet mode while watching netflix or something still at home on the couch.

Hardly need to have it on the big tv and concentrating when doing a mindless/mechanical task.

Put in 644 hours on the first Disgaea for the DS so I feel I'm going to enjoy this one too.

Huh, quite a few points higher than the PS4 version. Perhaps the extra dlc boostin' it up again?

No, it's mostly because of 41 reviews vs 12. You don't have all these yellow reviews for a remaster.

Port. Nothing in the Switch version is touched up. It includes the DLC that was in the season pass on PS4.

MAybe he is just a Closet Nintendo Fanboy(apparently a lot of reviewers are).

Or maybe you just looking for excuses to justify the good scores Nintendo games get.

Based on  your avatar i won't comment further.

Can't really agree with it. Disagaea is a 7/10 at best for me. It's funny for a bit, but then it becomes just a grindfest of numbers. I really tried but i could never bring myself to finish one.

You don't have to grind a single bit to be able to finish the main story of any game in the series.

Post game will demand a lot of character growth that doesn't have a proportional path between one another in which you'll have to make your own way of getting a lot stronger, but not in the main campaign before you finish it.

Well... maybe you know some strategies i don't. But i have felt the need to do extra leveling up to keep up with the story missions. Just to be able to gear up my characters i need to grind or i don't have enough gold for it.

I got Disgaea 4 wich i think was really good, but it's just too many useless systems adding complexity and grind to the game. It's my opinion anyways. It could not hold my atention. But, i still like the characters.

Switch games get higher scores because reviewers have nothing else to play on the system.

So the extra stuff equals 8 more points? well then... good i bought all that extra DLC for 15 on a PSN Flash sale months ago, (also got the game for 29.99 on the same sale, good stuff).

And portability.

So we are still acting like portability is something we havent done for the last 2 decades? Lol apparently its still something "new"

Didn't know the PS4 was both 2 decades old and portable.
