Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister and ambassador

Lol. So we dont even know who the source is? Not surprised though, Washington Post will print anything bad on trump, even if its false.

WTF, a journalist does not - and should not - reveal their sources, I mean, people take risks when they reveal that kind of information.

People saying this was legal to leak it to the russians are right in some way, and the claim that it was somehow illegal for the president of the USA to talk about classified information with anyone he chooses to was not made in the first place! However, what is claimed here is that if someone tells you a secret and they do not expect you to share it - yet you still share the information with someone they do not consider a friend, without any concern for possible consequences (I.E. an informant may be identified, and/or killed) - this will hurt your relation, and they may think twice before they share sensitive information with you again...

So legal, sure, he could have decided to reveal it to a crowd at his next rally!

Sensible, NO, it makes no sense, unless he is trying to cause problems... See how the news today is about the reaction from Israel...

Basically, the US gvt. is now run by russian spies, so be prepared for more until they are rooted out.

How can you say their discussion was not sensible? Do you know what he told them? Do any of us? Hell, do the supposed leakers know what was said? The only people who know are the people who were in the oval office at that time. And so far all of them have said, on the record, nothing out of line was discussed.

And the Israelis, where this intelligence is supposed to have come from have, as of this am, stated they aren't worried about what was discussed.

Also, you might want to get yourself a tin foil hat...

Well, the official did say that it would be a problem if their partner learned about this.

Better they find out now from our press than in a few weeks or months from the bullet in their informant's head.

Our press has a responsibility to report the truth and hold our government accountable, not to shield it from criticism of other nations.

LOL, watch the news much?

How do you mean? For a guy too busy to watch a White House briefing you certainly have enough time to hang around starting arguments with me!

It's pretty easy to browser forums while doing other stuff. It's pretty hard to watch a video while doing other stuff. Also, watching a video is a waste of time even if I do have time. Watching your video takes like 15 minutes or something, reading the same would take like 5 minutes.

This is actually the problem right now. People are too bothered to hear it live. They will await for the spin from whatever media outlet they listen to. During the election I watched every speach in its entirty and watche dthe various news outlets afterwards, CNN spun the hell out of anything and everything Trump said to fit there agenda.  Surprisingly enough Fox was the most even in regards to both candidates, probably because they didnt really care for Trump either.

Neglecting their responsibility doesn't absolve them from it.

It's well known that American tv media is dogshit.

The NSA advisor yet again TODAY stated the conversations and info that POTUS had shared was acceptable and not anything POTUS wouldn't share with anyone else. The funny thing is that somebody DID leak classified info.......the person telling the media that "classified info" was leaked! Yet no one is concerned about that. Also your understanding is a little off, nobody is denying anything because nobody will talk about what is classified and what is not classified.

Telling the media that classified information was erroneously disseminated to another agency is not "leaking classifed information".  It's "leaking that classified information was leaked".  Why are Trump supporters more bothered that someone is trying to expose the truth than the actual security failures themselves?  If it were Clinton, you'd be all over it.

Seems the information came from Israel, who, as we know, are not exactly up in arms against Russia.

And Isreal is pissed.  Bigly.

RedState and Fox.  But aside from the sourcing, did you honestly think their "official" line is going to be anything else?

Well, given states often say otherwise, yes. Because unlike many things, you can actually say this happened and represents their main view. What the individuals think is not up to them. They are an organization. If the main line is to maintain course, so be it.

Check another link, because I didn't mention a Western media outlet in there...

So what's your point here? That Isreal is pissed but they can't tell us but you and the media are in the know? If they said they aren't pissed than it's done move on. Don't let your hate for Trump lead you down illogical thinking like this. I'd also reccomened taking anything the media says about Trump with a grain of salt. Right now Trump is really really good for buinsess with it comes to the medialate night talk show host. That's why it's all they talk about now. So they will sensationalize things in their headlines to aid in getting the clicks.

I'm not even expecting a written article, basically I just want a transcript or at least some of the key points in a written form, word to word. I can't skim through a video to get to the point but I can skim through a transcript. If I really wanted to understand everything important that's going on, it'd take way too much time if I had to watch a video for every single thing there's a video for. Quite frankly, that's also one part of media's job: Focusing on the important parts so everyone doesn't have to spend a lot of time on staying up-to-date.

I posted my own links showing that on the inside, Israel is pissed.  I didn't say they are pissed because I'm in the know.  I said they are pissed because they said they are pissed.

Hmm... Two unauthorized officers at the Intelligence Agency and a former official of their Military Intelligence Service... Yeah, that's really representative. The ambassador and the actual Chief of the service don't seem to be important...

Yes and then you were given much more reliable sources and started trying to downplay them. I'm positive that if these people said what you wanted to hear there would be no down playing of that they said. This is the problem people only believe what they want to hear. Anything else they twist and make sense of in their own way.
