The Vita version of minecraft was an exact port of the X360/PS3 game though, you could even swap your world back and forth between the ps3 and Vita versions without altering the map at all.

I bought MC on Switch day one because I'm a whore for buying that game, but still, just saying it isn't the first time the game is available on a mobile console in its complete edition.

But the world sizes were small in the PS3, Xbox 360 and Vita editions. The Switch version allows worlds 13 times bigger.

And the PS4 and X1 allow worlds a further 3 times larger than the Switch, so technically the Switch version isn't the "full" console version either :p Personally i think that's a silly way of looking at it though. As long as its feature complete, i'd consider it the full game. The Switch, PS4, and X1 versions allowing larger worlds just makes them a better version of that package.

God bless physical DLC.

Yeah. It has resale value, has potential functionality across different games, can be used to decorate, and can be lent to other people. It's certainly not perfect but it has its advantages.

So is it confirmed, or you think it could happen..?

I also think it is possible, but I'm doubting it at this point. Most of the amiibo that could be used for the game already have a skin in the game... at least the Mario characters. I just don't really see MC amiibo happening. It's been around for a long time and at this point I think the popularity around this game has died down a bit.

Confirmed? No. But is this Minecraft amiibo thing possible? Yes, if there is a market available and cash to be made.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

This would be a trainwreck. Exclusive content such as skins is one thing, Mojang having creative freedom is another, but exclusive features is something Microsoft would never want aside from the Switch's TV to handheld feature (which apparently they butchered).

People (mainly strange people) are already attacking Phil Spencer on twitter over having a Switch port. If somehow there was an amiibo exclusive feature, people would flip or bash or mock or whatever. Even if the implementation makes perfect sense. No, perhaps especially if it made sense. Amiibo's ability to work in multiple games may be a headache for Nintendo as well. Though not as big.

I assume that you're being sarcastic, but I actually like DLC being released on-disc as otherwise I don't buy DLC.

I assume YOU'RE being sarcastic.

Nope, I'm not actually. I've never purchased DLC in my life, but if they release it on disc (like RDR: Undead Nightmare or Episodes from Liberty City), I do buy it.

Oooooooooh. My bad I thought you meant more like Street Fighter x Tekken on disc DLC for some reason lol

No, I definitely don't want that!

So you agree that the Switch version of Minecraft is already an exclusive version of the game. The Super Mario World is also exclusive to Nintendo. Why not do more "exclusive" things in the Switch version then since it is already exclusive anyway?

What do you think? Could this actually happen?

I would think it would be a crossover of amiibo and Microsoft's own IoT/Toys to life platform - similar to the Amiibo/Skylander crossover.

Like you said - It's easy money for both MS and Nintendo.

Perhaps this also might be the way we get Zelda, Donkey Kong, Animal Crossing and other Nintendo-related theme packs for Minecraft in the future. Nintendo characters in Minecraft artstyle.

Or... gasp... barf... I have to say it... Minecraft in Mario Kart or Smash

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yeah... but at the time the Vita version came out, that was the only console version going, so your line about "Never before has there been a full console version playable anywhere before" isn't true, at the time the Vita version came out, that was the full sized console version, and fuck it was great on the Vita too. Just like it's amazing on the Switch... unless you're in a field of wheat, I've noticed that growing around you can tank the frame rate fairly badly.
