Minecraft on Nintendo Switch is a first for the series. Never before has there been a full console version playable anywhere before. I think Minecraft on Switch will become a perfect storm. And to ride the popularity of the game Nintendo will work with Microsoft to develop... Minecraft amiibo . Each amiibo will come with a skin of that particular Minecraft character. Scan it in and bam, that skin is yours. Plus you get a cool collectable figure too. What do you think? Could this actually happen?

The Vita version of minecraft was an exact port of the X360/PS3 game though, you could even swap your world back and forth between the ps3 and Vita versions without altering the map at all.

I bought MC on Switch day one because I'm a whore for buying that game, but still, just saying it isn't the first time the game is available on a mobile console in its complete edition.

It probably will. The kids would want it and both Nintendo and MS would make a killing.

Is it still popular?

I know I wanted to get it, but I'm waiting until there's a physical release. I wonder if anyone else is in the same boat.

I assume that you're being sarcastic, but I actually like DLC being released on-disc as otherwise I don't buy DLC.

I also think it is possible, but I'm doubting it at this point. Most of the amiibo that could be used for the game already have a skin in the game... at least the Mario characters. I just don't really see MC amiibo happening. It's been around for a long time and at this point I think the popularity around this game has died down a bit.
