How much resolution is Switch version ?

Believe I read 720p handheld and 1080p Docked, not 100% but the full screen images of the Switch and PS4 version in this video looked damn close to each other and apparently it was captured incorrectly on the switch side of things.

"no downgrades" apparently. Would need digital foundry to say for sure, considering they mention it will run the same as PS4 in handheld mode... and obviously it isn't 1080p like that on a 720p screen would be pointless.

It's been about load times since the cartridge vs. CD days!

I think load times have become an issue again more recently though, with things like The Witcher 3 taking upwards of 2 minutes to load an area at times... that is just too much, you're going back to PSP levels of loading times there... I mean... that is 1/30th of an hour spent looking at a single loading screen! Crazy, in the same lenght of time I could have been hit with 7 Blue shells in MK8D!

Well, I guess that it's at least not Neo Geo CD level!

I've never had the (dis) Pleasure, was it really over 2 minutes for loading? I'm trying to think back what is the worst games ever and still think it was a burnout on the psp I played where I was getting on a bus and started the game, and had gotten off at the other side of the city without yet getting into a race in it.

Well there is no real tear here for the games, if you want Disgaea 5 on a handheld then the Switch is the only system for you to get it on....

However

if you want every single other Disgaea game from the prequel of Phantom Brave all the way through the 2 ps3 titles of 3+4 complete editions , as well as the 2 spin off Prinny titles then the vita is the place to go for Disgaea goodness if you want the whole series.

The cartridge's effect-o

This isn't related to cartridges. The kind of cartridge that avoided loading times was the one on pre-N64 consoles. It was mapped as part of the main memory and was connected to a fast bus. The modern cartridges are more like SD cards, so loading is necessary.

DF already benchmarked the Switch storage, the cartridges are slower than the internal flash memory or class 10 micro SDs: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-best-microsd-cards-for-switch-loading-time-comparison

They are faster than BRs, but PS4 stores the game in the HDD, so its storage is considerably faster than what is available on the Switch. So the difference is on optimization or the higher quality (and size) of the assets in the PS4 version.
