Wouldn't mind knowing of other titles which include some form of internal Trophy or Achievement system in place, so far I've encountered 2 of them in

 - Disgaea 5 Complete - Features the full set of PS4 achievements tracked during game play but now being accessed via NPC in the game, they didn't even change the format of the Trophy system so you have your Bronze, Silver and Golds for major in game events all leading to the unlocking of the Platinum Trophy for completing everything else.

 - Minecraft from the main UI has the achievements set taken from the newest build of the PS4 game as well, directly from the Menu or visible by holding a button when you earn an achievement to bring you to the menu for them.

I know Achievements aren't for everyone, but it could be cool to know of the Switch titles which have included these internal sets of achievements in the ports coming from other machines which have system wide versions in place just to enjoy yourself while playing the games.

As for anyone thinking "but Disgaea 5 isn't out yet" it bloody well is... came out in Japan as a launch title, was shocked by that myself and it takes about 10 mins to create a Japanese account on the Switch, go to the Eshop and buy it there (you will also need to visit play asia to buy some Yen eshop credit if your CC doesn't work for Japanese purchases) if anyone is interested in that or wants a hand give me a message here and I can help out with it. Japanese version of the game is dual audio / text too btw, so when you open the game with your English profile it will default to English Text / Audio but also allow you the option of changing the audio back to Japanese if you rather hear the original.

Would be interested though if anyone has picked up Just Dance to know if that has the same sort of achievement system from the other versions of the game, that was always cool to challenge harder modes and unlock achievements in that type of game.

So, many developers are deciding to go the in-game achievement route? That'd be cool, as a lot of pre-achievement games did that too, and gave rewards for getting them. Capcom Classics Collection is one example I can think of.

Bomberman R has lots of unlockable outfits, characters and stages that require you to purchase with play coins. These can be earned aplenty by playing online ranked battles, especially if you are good. Doesn't count as an achievement I know, but it does give you something to aim for.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

When you do some looking into, you'll find that some games do have achievements in them in Nintendo released games, or something similar to them, but just in game. They've been around longer than this.

I still very much prefer the central system and having a collection. I'd love to go for achievements in games like Zelda or Mario.

Unfortunately I still am able to resist. Really considered getting one for MK8 but I can't justify spending that much just for one game.

3rd party games like these having built in achievement/trophy systems is nice (especially the Disgaea one by the sounds of it) but they're also available on other console with full acheivement systems so...

Edit: Nice to see people think of me when this topic comes up though

can you really resist.... this?

But yeah in Disgaea 5 you got this NPC

and you can check over all the achievements given the listing of them in Bronze Silver Gold and Plat I would think they're lifted directly from the PS4 version

But yeah in Minecraft the game has Achievements

Which are directly from the Xbox version of the games

Despite having completed it on the PS4 (with season pass) I am tempted to get it - if the "in game" achievements exist. I loved Disgaea 3, and 4 on the vita.

So I may get one for Mario kart 8 D (although I have it on the wii U) and Disgaea 5 (again having it on the ps4).

Quoting you just to bring attention to the post above! Having owned the game for a bit now, I can confirm the achievements are there!

Meh, lacks the same feel of building up your actual GS or Trophy rank so I'll pass. I'll wait for a real trophy/achievement system.
