Not to be a party pooper here, but that may not be the case.

Yes te PS4 total sales were adjusted up by 1M.... but doesn't that only count to 2017 if the previous numbers were only undertracking 2017?

What of if some of that 1M is shared over the last two years too.

Let's bring the unbelievable and cross 20M in a year.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

From what I've seen, they added an additional 300,000 to 2016's total. But that would only bring it from 17.1 to 17.4, still below 2015.
Now, here, I have an extra week for 2016, so that would bump it up to 18 million. But, both 2015 and 2016 were at 10 million by the time November came around, and they went on to an additional 7 million in the last two months.
2017 is already at 11 million, before the adjustment it was at 10 million, and we haven't even reached October.
Granted, it may not sell as well as it did the past 2 holiday seasons do to the Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch, but that's unlikely to have a considerable effect, especially since Sony countered with a $199 PS4 slim for the entire week of Black Friday.
It's looking more and more likely that 20 million is a lock.

Greeting, one and all.
A few updates.

Firstly, I am back!
I was away for about 5-6 days on a family vacation trip for Thanksgiving weekend in Dallas and then Orlando. But now, I am back home and in the saddle again.
Secondly, I have fully updated the PS4's 2017 and now, it is not even a contest anymore. It is well over 12 million just before November and December. November will certainly be very interesting. Sales, will obviously spike due to the usual suspects, Call of Duty and Star Wars. But then, there is also the $199 Black Friday deal that could send 2017 straight to the stars and among the best single years for any console in history; And with Sony themselves coming out and saying this past Black Friday was the best one in all of PlayStation's history, it's practically guaranteed at this point.

I would assume that the numbers for 2016 have already been adjusted given that Sony releases sold-through numbers in January.
