Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U port begging (on Switch)

Lol, WiiU has the lowest tie ratio of any Nintendo home console. Maybe if WiiU owners would have bought more software Nintendo wouldn't have to recoup all those losses they made.

Most of WiiU's games never should have been exclusive to WiiU anyway, they should have been on Wii too.

Given Switch has no backwards compatibility then WiiU owners can keep 'muh HD Zeldaz' and Wonderful 101 but everything else can be remastered, y'know, like Super Mario Allstars.

Actually, that title belongs to the Nintendo 64, but I agree with the spirit of what you're saying. Switch lacks BC so porting Wii U games to Switch gives people who missed out on Wii U a chance to experience them.

Howver, I do think making threads to specifically ask for that to happen are annoying. If Nintendo is going to do it, its not gonna be because some forum users made a thread about it

6.84 for N64, only 6.40 for WiiU according to this site.

edit: Nintendo has it at 7.3 for WiiU, pretty big difference.

This is the proper thread to beg for WiiU ports? Ok.

I want Xenoblade, of course. The 3D Mario, the Toad side story.
What else? Any exclusives of a decent caliber... the biggest ones, the gamecube Zeldas I guess.
That Fatal Frame no one played...

Also, Trauma Center,  Ace Attorney.

Yeah no, not gonna happen. Fatal frame actually sold pretty highly (retail at least) compared to the other fatal frames.

Boy, what a load of bullshit this post is.

The Wii U was never reasonably priced, it didn't get great support, but it did have some great 1st party content. The solution is common sense. Great Wii U games should be ported to Switch simply because its relatively easy to do and its more great content for Switch.

Frankly, I just wish these ports didn't cost $60.

Were the Last of Us and GTAV remastered ports at $60 retail? And they were released a year after the originals.

Last of Us was $50. GTAV was a pretty significant upgrade, not just a simple port.

Either way, I'm not happy when other companies do it either. Frankly, I was critical of GoWIII being $40 for a simple PS3 port.

I already own every game I wanted to play on Wii U (except Fatal Frame V, I hate digital-only releases) so I won't buy a Switch for ports of its games, but I don't mind their existence either. If there is people willing to pay $ 60 for games I've been playing for the last three years and Nintendo wants to use that to fill the gaping holes in Switch's first year's lineup, then it works for both parties involved.

Nope, your guys loss. If you wanted the games you should enjoy gotten a Wii U. A port here and there is fine, I just don't want the Switch to be filled up with Wii U ports, I shouldn't have to suffer through Wii U ports when I bought them on a Wii U. I'd rather have Smash 5, a new yoshi, a new donkey kong, hyrule warriors 2, etc. Focus all the resources on that, and don't give me that bs "nobody got to play those games" 8 million people bought MK8 on Wii U, obviously it's nowhere close to Wii numbers, but it beat out older Mario kart titles on higher selling systems. Same goes for most other Wii U Nintendo made games, most sold at least a mil copies, some beating out older titles final sales on higher install bases.

It takes a fraction of the effort to port games than to actually develop entirely new games.

I belive your feelings are from a world where Wii U wasn't a massive failure even though it had some notable games. Over time you will see numerous Wii U titles on Switch, its an easy way to give Switch notable content in slow periods.

I'm gonna use this thread to port beg for Wii Fit U.

See ya

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Ports never hurt a system. Ever.

What does hurt the Switch is if Nintendo doesn't continue supporting it with new games. That's it.

Yes, I want to beg that too, also Wii Sports Resort HD

I'll port beg all I want. I missed out. Theres money in it. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is going to sell because of it.

Pretty much this, I also don't believe that Nintendo should stop salvaging software from the WiiU which didn't sell as well as it could have for the sake of pleasing those who bought a WiiU and feel annoyed that it's good games are being made use out of, what is the harm in it if Nintendo want to get extra sales (500k copies of MK8 in the first week in the US I think) from software they've already worked on and just have to shift from one machine to the next the cost and time required to move that software forwards would be miniscule in comparison to building a game from scratch.

Just think of it like this are Nintendo really going to leave software which didn't sell to rot on the WiiU or if their customers would buy it should they not profit from the demand for it? Jez, the thing is, if Nintendo don't listen to their customers and bring them games people want from the past (virtual console GC games) then there is uproar that they're not giving the fans what they want... but if they port some games from the wiiu that is sacrilege because people should be punished for having the common sense to see that console was doomed from the get go? Sorry but no company is turning down money to make you feel better about purchasing a lemon.

That's the thing at the end of the day isn't it? If the ports come out and they don't interest you, that's grand and doesn't effect you really, just let other people buy what they want and worry about yourself.

In some ways I'm jealous that you got to play the games on the WiiU a few years ago but in another way I'm happy to have them on the Switch and have passed one generation of Nintendo machines, maybe one day I'll buy a wiiu just for completionist sake but otherwise I'm grand I think.
