Super Mario Bros.
Tetris
World of Warcraft

2016:
Grand Theft Auto III
The Legend of Zelda
The Oregon Trail
The Sims
Sonic the Hedgehog
Space Invaders

2017:
Donkey Kong
Halo
Pokemon Red and Green
Street Fighter II

My personal list i believe should make it into the HoF

Half Life - Brought Deep narrative, Freeroaming and character interactions in the FPS genre. (Considered by many as the greatest game ever made)

Half Life 2 - Created State of the Art Physics and brought it into the gaming world. Even by today standards, its still one of the best out available.

Homeworld - It Redefined the 3D Space RTS genre.

Command and Conquar - Like Doom with FPS, C&C is the Granddaddy of the RTS genre and is the first successful game to do it right.

Minecraft - Turned crafting in video games into fun. I think Minecraft speaks for itself really.

Double Dragon - It included 2 player co-op and was a giant hit at the Arcades and like Doom and C&C, its the Granddaddy of the Beat Em'Up genre.

Super Mario Kart - The first successful Kart game that redefined racing games. Many games try to mimic MK.

King's Quest - It pioneered the use of animation and pseudo-3D environments in graphic adventure games in the early 80s. It took the point the click genre by storm.

Warcraft 3 - Another RTS title however this one brought in great story telling, RPG elements and many games today still use the Warcraft 3 formula ie - League of Legends and Dota which were inspired off W3.

League of Legends - Basically made MOBA games what it is today. Its the Granddaddy of MOBA with many followers. In 2016 the game had over 100million active users. Today many games try to steal the Pie that League holds very comfortably.

Gran Turismo - Being the first to heavly focus on Car Simulation and spanning across the gaming industry for many years. Games like Forza and Project Cars gain there insperation from GT.

Mario 64 - Revolutionsized 3D platforming and 3D gaming in general.

Galaga - Who doesnt remember this Arcade classic. Like Space Invaders it deserves to mentioned.

Astroids -  Old classic which was very popular in the late 70s with its very unique gameplay of full 360 degree shooting.

Missle Command - Another old classic which was one of the best selling games on the Atari 2600 and was one many remember.

Snake - Who wouldnt consider the classic Snake game which exploded on mobile phones. Everyone played Snake or heard about it.

Slender Man - It brought the horror game scene to YouTube where many Youtubers became famous for playing scary games. Slender Man brought back old fashion jump scares in the 21st century.

Resident Evil/Bio-Hazard - Well this is a cult classic. It put Zombie games on the map and was considered one of the scariest games of its time.

More to be added..

*I dont like to have two games from the same franchise however both Half Life and Half Life 2 games redefined FPS in there own unique ways (I am trying to not be bias lol)

The Link below provides you access to vote for games you think should be considered into the Hall of Fame.

The list is alright but It's weird that Sonic is on the list but no Metroid or Castlevania. Sonic definitely had a big cultural impact but I don't see much influence on gaming itself.

I think Counterstrike deserves to be more on the list than Half Life. It should also include either DQ or FF.

I would agree with Counter-Strike, it did start an avalanche of future FPS multiplayer games. Only reason why i picked Half-Life over it was because Counter-Strike was inspired and created from Half-Life.

Reasons why Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy have yet to be added baffles me

How come GTA3 and Street Fighter 2 got in there while their predecessors didn't, while Halo got in despite it's successors being vastly superior in every way?

The original Street Fighter was reviewed as mediocre and was an afterthought until II came out and took the arcades by storm. GTA3 apparently brought the sandbox genre to a whole new level back in the day. Then Halo Combat Evolved was revolutionary for its time in the first person shooter genre with its online multiplayer and compelling campaign. At least, that's how all of them are remembered by.

It's not about who did it first or better. It's about who had the biggest impact on the industry as a whole.  None of the other games in those series had as much of an impact as the ones listed.

Maybe they're not sure which one to choose for the HOF.

Well theyre both equally important. DQ made the genre more accessible than RPGs before it and did things that were important in the development of future RPGs such as giving depth to characters on your team, the way battle HUDs look, etc. While FF popularized the genre and added a party system, etc.
