the original comparison was useless so this one is too by default

It's still fun though.

The only way Sony could ever reach Nintendo in total systems sold would be if Nintendo consistely only released Wii U's and 3DS's, while Sony would have to consistently release PS4's, and even then it'd take like at least 5 generations, probably more, by which I'm not sure if Sony will even make consoles. Heck, in 5 generations I'm not sure if Nintendo will make consoles. So that is an insane expectation.

It's possible without a doubt, but I think Sony will win this in the end. The PS4 is just too damn strong and with some nice deals for the holidays or a price cut, they will sell one shitload of consoles.

Yeah, I agree with this, PS4 is in the peak year. Also Vita will add another million and PS3 a few 100K.

I'd like to hear an explanation from the people who chose Microsoft (seriously).

They weren't serious (seriously).

IF Nintendo meets demand, I think the Switch will be massive this holiday, so gonna go with the Switch by a small margin.

I'm surprised about the over 3 million votes (regardless if for Nintendo or Sony). They got the biggest votes, but are very unlikely. They will probably be within one or two million to each other. A big gap is very unlikely.

By the way: when can we expect shipment figures for Q2 (or Q1 FY) for both companies? This should give us a first impression.

So people are back to combining nintendo's handheld and console to PS4. Just to try and spin some kind of Nintendo win lol. If none of the systems out sell PS4. Then PS4 wins. It's pretty simple

LOL but he's Saying Nintendo and Sony... Is Nintendo just the 3DS  line when it comes to video games? Is Sony's only presense the PS4? ;)

How can a console that is not available to buy outsell the PS4?

I know Nintendo's next investors meeting is at the end of July (26th, 28th, around there). Sony's should be not too far from there.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Thanks. The numbers presented there should give us a first inkling how this will turn out and maybe they'll adjust their projections.

PS4 and Switches are flying of shelves, that´s for sure.

Basically my viewpoint on all of this, it doesn't *have* to be a competition, can't we all just be happy that Nintendo and Sony (and more importantly the video game industry as a whole) are doing very well right now?
