Forums - Politics Discussion - How can the USA act so high and mighty after this?

https://mic.com/articles/62023/10-chemical-weapons-attacks-washington-doesn-t-want-you-to-talk-about#.22RITo85A

I mean especially the Israel one which is so recent. And the iraq ones? Saying Assad used chemical weapons is a guess at best and no actual proof has been provided by anyone but so many incidents occurred that involve USA in some form or others and I don't care about the government but the people of USA act so high and mighty and call others bad, evil, dictators among other things. If Russia did half of the things USA does, it would have been sanctioned to hell by the world in fact it has been but USA controls everything. I would go as far as to say that the USA as a country is a dictator of the world, not a police of the world as others have proclaimed. ANything happens that USA doesn't agree with and USA is all over it. And I mean the intelligence disagrees with. The establishment is really the people we don't see on screen not the POTUS or the elected government

It's a complex situation which can't end with a clear villain or saint. Unfortunately, we can only leage it at that

They act high and mighty because many people believe them when they say it. I cannot in good consciousness declare them to be a benevolent force, but there are those who truly believe that.

Number 8 on that list is particularly disturbing.

I did hear about it back in the day though, I can not remember which news channel reported on it.

Because we've developed a long standing agenda of moral high ground that is now embedded into our society.

We're the "good guys" in Hollywood movies, books, TV, video games and we dominate the international media.

We are the epitome of "do as I say and not as I do".

Pretty much

There's a difference between nerve gas and tear gas/pepper spray. In the military, I was required to inhale tear gas and as an officer, I was required to be sprayed with pepper spray.

I personal feel that Trump used a horrible situation abroad to get some heat off of himself. As a black male, I also know America has a dark history.

What is the purpose of this thread? Recruiting terrorists?

It's true, no one knows that the US bombed Japan. A very well-kept secret that's not in history books at all.

Has it ever been different?

Well, it's politics. It sucks but what can you do about it? I'm not a US citizen so I can't even vote there, but at least I'm doing my part in my country.

I guess the world gives us a break since we have paid for in blood and money for the brunt of the battle against terrorism.
There is some collateral damage. I guess it happens on all sides.

Americas biggest collateral damage is our desperation for change so now we are stuck with Trump.
But to answer you question, yes, we will always think Terrorism is bad. If you think ISIS or groups like them are good for the world then you are wrong.

That many people in pretty much every country on this planet think something is wrong with what USA does has not much to do with them thinking ISIS is good. It's just that USA does a lot of bad stuff on their own and it's not only "collateral damage" with which some Americans try to justify everything with.

You don't kill millions of people (directly or through the results of what you do) and can always say it's just collataral damage after doing great things for this planet.
