Forums - Sales Discussion - US software, week ending 1st of April

I'm honestly curious to see how long Zelda will hang up in the Top 30 with SM.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I almost feel bad that MLB The Show is PlayStation it is by far and away the best baseball game yet no one can play it besides PS owners. At the same time you cannot expect Sony to put their 1st party developed games on other platforms just because 2K and EA fucked up their licenses.

I remember back in the day when all the major 1st parties had all their own games for each sport. Sony had NBA, MLB the Show, NFL Gameday, Gretzky NHL and World Tour Soccer.

Why would you feel bad at all? MLB The Show is PlayStation because it is made by Sony. It was that way from the start. You know that. If people want a competent baseball game they'll buy a PS4. Don't start getting illogical (the almost feel bad part in the bold) just because the game is that good and other folks screwed up when they had an MLB game. lol

KH domination in the US! As expected. WOO!!!!!!!!

If it sold "over 2.6m in less than two weeks" world wide...
does it make sense that its first month's sales in the USA is only 644k, like vgc has it?

Is it just alot of it is digital sales?

It seems to be. NPD had Horizon at 646k for physical sales in March, but 1m+ including digital.

Is there a reason for MLB's sales jump? I don't follow the sport or the game series, but it doesn't strike me as the kind of game that sees a 120% launch jump over its predecessor without a reason.

i dont see anybody buying zelda digitally, considering how sweet that box art is and not to mention nintendo has still not yet fully embraced the digital medium as well as PS4 and Xbox.. on the other hand buying PS4 game digitally is the most convenient way now, at one point I was against Digital, but now I only have FFXV as a physical copy rest 70+ games are digital, So I think its safe to say Horizon could be doing well digitally

Yeah, Horizon climbing towards that fabled 10 million any day now...

Am I evil for being happy seeing the unimpressive Mass Effect numbers? I hope EA rage quits on Bioware and realizes they've ruined one of the best developers of all time. But that's never gonna happen, of course.

high percentage of digital sales, worldwide sales, vgchartz having very inaccurate data as known by everyone, the fact that we got pr stating the game sold 2.7 million 2 weeks after launch. looks like you have issues with the game which is fine but im sure you know the game has obviously sold much more than what vgchartz says it has

Woah, those are huge numbers for MLB...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

*raises hand*

I find digital to be convenient on handhelds.

Good numbers for MLB, but nice to see Zelda hold up well too

TV ratings are strong. Up last year at every point in the season, especially in the playoffs. That might be part of the reason.
