Forums - Politics Discussion - 100 Days of Trump -- A Review

Cock-up Cascade: an unbroken chain of bad decisions, usually resulting in the creation of something that is bad in theory and even worse in practise.

100 Days have passed.  The results are in: the only way to describe the Trump Regime’s performance is to use the definition provided above.  Some people said to give him a chance, but the honeymoon period is now over and thus far the Regime has only showcased failure, incompetence, corruption and malice.

Don’t believe me?  Time for a review!

There are, at present, 286 independent reports of corruption within the Regime.  Feel free to scroll down and click each of them for more details if you wish to verify the sources for yourself: https://corrupt.af/

All major legislation has failed.  Not one, but two travel bans struck down in court, a result entirely self-inflicted.  Thanks to Giuliani blurting out to the media that it was Trump’s attempt at a legal Muslim Ban https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekVwbdxy2b8 , not to mention how poorly written it was, it naturally didn’t go very far thanks to things like the US Constitution.  Repealing the ACA also backfired, the replacement somehow achieving a sad 17% approval http://time.com/4711225/obamacare-repeal-health-care-poll/ --it says a lot when they are so desperate to get something done that the objective is pass something that almost everyone hates.  Finally, the crackdown on “Sanctuary Cities” was struck down in the courts as well.  With each failure, the Dealmaker vented his rage on Twitter—as is tradition.  What isn't tradition is accomplishing so little in the first 100 days.

Naturally, the People were pissed.  Awarding Mr. Trump with historically low approval ratings and astonishingly high disapproval ratings http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-polls-popularity-historic-low-latest-gallup-first-quarter-president-a7693836.html  , they forced his hand.  In order to win support, he’d have to abandon his “America First” philosophy  http://www.nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/04/isolationist_turned_internationalist_donald_trump.html   and start killing people overseas.  The result?  A Jimmy-Cartered Yemen Raid  https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/02/why-is-the-white-house-calling-its-yemen-raid-a-success/515970/ that accomplished nothing, a civilian death toll exceeding the cumulative total of Obama’s http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-civilian-deaths-syria-iraq-middle-east-a7649486.html , escalating tensions with Russia and North Korea in addition to the Middle East, the detonation of the biggest non-nuclear explosive America has (to kill only 94 people http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/afghan-death-toll-94-us-isis-mother-of-all-bombs-donald-trump-taliban-a7684731.html ), and, according to Russian officials, only 23 out of 59 American-launched missiles hit an empty Syrian air field that was used hours laterhttps://www.rt.com/news/383858-syria-us-strike-inefficient/  .

It was expensive.  It was ineffective.  It was, with respect to the final example, something that undermined America’s claim to be the oldest Constitutional Republic in the world (That claim is wrong; The Republic of San Marino has the US beat by over 150 years).  By ordering the strike without Congressional approval http://globalnews.ca/news/3363076/trump-syria-strikes-congress/ , Mr. Trump overstepped his own bounds and possibly broke the law in the process.

This was not the only incident that undermined America’s claim to be a Constitutional Republic, however: the GOP, despite holding a majority, decided to use the Nuclear Option to avoid a filibuster on their Supreme Court nominee   http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/06/politics/senate-nuclear-option-neil-gorsuch/.  Combined with Mr. Trump’s Constitutional violations (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-us-constitution-violate-impeached-congress-legal-experts-us-president-white-house-a7566516.html), America no longer has legitimate claim to being a Constitutional Republic.  Henceforth I shall refer to it as “West Korea”, either until due process removes the despotic tyrannical wannabe from office or until Mr. Trump stops running things like Kim-Jong Un.

As to be expected, the international community rolled its eyes, did a facepalm and lost respect for the Declining Kiddie in the Swill.  Oh, and lost respect for that other thing that Reagan said—the Shining City on a Hill.  Internationally, Mr. Trump has been a complete embarrassment.  Hanging up on the Australian President https://news.vice.com/story/trump-hangs-up-on-the-australian-prime-minister-after-tense-talks because that’s what being “Presidential” is, apparently.  Refusing to shake Merkel’s hand  http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/donald-trump-denies-refusing-shake-10147908.  Being put in his place by the Canadian Prime Minister https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2017/02/13/donald-trump-and-justin-trudeau-shake-hands-an-analysis.html  (though, as a former school teacher, Trudeau would have some experience with how to deal with bullies), and being briefed on the North Korea situation by the Chinesehttp://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-xi-jingping-north-korea-history-lesson-10-minute-china-us-talks-mar-a-lago-florida-a7681611.html .

Maybe if  Mr. Trump’s intelligence briefings contained more than 1/4th of Obama’s and actually contain nuance or dissenting information (http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/02/classified-memo-tells-intelligence-analysts-keep-trumps-daily-brief-short), he wouldn’t need to be coached by a foreign power.  Maybe if Mr. Trump hadn’t taken 1.4 vacations a week since his coronation http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/09/politics/trump-outpacing-obama-golf/index.html, he’d have had the time to learn what it takes to do his job.  The German Chancellor shouldn’t have to explain the fundamentals of trade eleven times to a world leader  http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-trade-merkel-germany-eu-2017-4 .   Who knew that being the Beloved Leader of West Korea could be so hard?

“Nobody knew health care could be so complicated. “ –Mr. Trump, after the Republicare debacle.

“After listening for ten minutes, I realized its not so easy.  “ Mr. Trump, on the Chinese President explaining the North Korea situation.

But things are looking up, right?  He has a team who can steer him on the right path?  Nope.  Hundreds of Cabinet positions have yet to be filled http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/24/help-wanted-trump-administration-still-has-hundreds-of-jobs-to-fill.html (this is the first time since the 1700’s that a President hasn’t performed this most basic of duties), his Cabinet is crammed with billionaires and millionaires while historically lacking in experience http://www.redstate.com/joesquire/2016/12/09/sorry-supporters-trump-appoints-another-goldman-sachs-vet/  (AKA The Swamp), and his inner circle is in chaos (not to mention the impeachment of President Bannon  http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/steve-bannon-national-security-council-remove-donald-trump-chief-strategist-white-house-a7668676.html  ).

Kremlingate has already caused Mr. Trump’s National Security Advisor to resign (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/13/us/politics/donald-trump-national-security-adviser-michael-flynn.html ) (he later offered to testify in exchange for immunity from the FBI https://www.wsj.com/articles/mike-flynn-offers-to-testify-in-exchange-for-immunity-1490912959 and according to him, that is a sign that he is probably guilty of committing a crime https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/03/31/michael-flynn-in-2016-immunity-means-you-probably-committed-a-crime/ )  , Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself of the investigation into the former (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/13/us/politics/donald-trump-national-security-adviser-michael-flynn.html ) and may have perjured himself during a Congressional Hearing http://www.businessinsider.com/al-franken-jeff-sessions-perjury-2017-3  …now the FBI is investing them and  while the FBI investigate them and their Beloved Leader https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/20/us/politics/fbi-investigation-trump-russia-comey.html.  From sea unto sea, people everywhere are chanting ‘lock them up!’--as is to be expected when Federal agents look into the possibility that the Trump Regime is an agent of a foreign power.

In the meantime, a video documenting the Regime’s actual successes (somewhat):

Finally, for Fiscal Conservatives out there, the costs of his vacations is ballooning http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-costs-trips-security-taxpayer-barack-obama-month-year-a7586261.html, his budget is inflating the military at the expense of virtually everything else http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/58caccf2112f7047028b4794-1024/bi-graphicswinners-and-losers-in-trumps-first-budget1024.png (despite the military budget already the world’s largest by a light year http://static5.businessinsider.com/image/55e0c1619dd7cc24008b6c64-1200-1566/bi_graphics_millitary-budget-compare-chart-2.png ) and his tax “plan” shifts trillions into the pockets of the wealthiest but contains no plan to prevent a deficit https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/27/us/politics/individual-business-tax-wealth.html?_r=0

The Trump Regime is a cock-up cascade and the world knows it.  But hey, at least the TPP is dead, right?

In honour of the many, many catastrophic failures in the Trump regime and the constant leaks from concerned staffers  http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/318621-trump-white-house-besieged-by-leaks  , I rate Mr. Trump’s regime…

Seven out of ten hull breaches.

After 100 Days of Trump, I couldn’t find a more appropriate little vid to cap off this review, so here it is:

There's no point to try and discuss any of this because you made this thread for....

How? He didn't get shit done. Nothing that he said he was going to do...never passed or it blew up in his orange face. Obama "curr", their "Great plan" for healthcare didn't even take flight. His muslim ban got banned....twice. He goes out for golf and issues executive orders...which isn't much of an issue, unless you criticize the past president for doing the same thing and effectively becoming a bloody hypocrite. Hell, he goes golfing more than Obama did. His "Wall" I mean come on. Mexico is gonna somehow pay for it, and it is going to cost 10+Billion.

His speech is that of a 3rd grader's level...how can you be happy with him? I have to know. He hasn't done anything. But save a few coal jobs that affect such a miniscule percentage of the workforce anyway. Tax reform...he wants to cut taxes on the wealthy and expect things to get done...how? Sure, you could say that lowering taxes on big corporations will encourage them to hire...but they aren't going to hire in America and pay minimum wage, they're going to pocket that cut and keep hiring laborers in China and India. Greed doesn't change.

I really want to know how you are happy with him, not trying to bully anybody or anything like that, I genuinely want to know how you could be happy with him. Never have I seen a politician, a president who is so unaware of his situation and what it takes to run a country. Hell yeah, nobody thinks that running the US won't be easy, but Trump thought it'd be easier...how? Above all, the thing that kills me the most about any human being is how hypocritical they can be. And Trump takes the chocolate cake.

Yeah, I have to agree.  I'm not a Trump fan whatsoever but this isn't a "review".  I was hoping for something objective when I clicked on the link but I can't get anything of value from this because I can't trust it.  The tone makes that clear, not to mention some of the source links.

Pretty much. No point discussing something in a thread where the OP is so clearly biased and resorts to petty name calling.

Like it's possible to have a rational discussion with someone with socialist in their profile name?

while their backyard is getting flooded, the climate change deniers are happy with him.

But taxes are increasing for some?

Majority of the Tax cuts go to the Rich/top 1%. The very people who need it the least.
It's similar to what our current government is doing, pushing for "Trickle down economics" by providing tax cuts, cost reductions, removal of red tape for the rich and big business in the hopes it will trickle down to lower classes.
It hasn't worked. Costs are rising, wages are stagnant, Government debt has exploded... And that's all starting to impact the low and middle classes.
