Still plenty of stock in the UK. There are some places out of stock but you have plenty of options as an alternative source.

Looks to be a slowdown here like wii u although not as bad I think. However many shops aren't pushing the Switch at all. I can't see many casual buyers getting the Switch if its not pushed in their face so to speak.

Definitely feels PS4 is the right choice when you visit shops with the xbox one as the alternative option.

Well, when it says it's in stock at Amazon.co.uk but when you click the link you only get two private sellers who sell one (and all other consoles are like 320 pound +) then it isn't in stock at Amazon for me. The rest is ebay (crazy, you get it on ebay who would have thought) and some store selling it for 330 pounds. So no, doesn't seem to me as if it's available so often.

But hey, if 80% are out of stock and the rest are single units or units for a much higher price it surely means you have plenty of options.

Normally I make the disclaimer about scalping prices but didn't on this occasion. There are still many suppliers at the standard price in addition to the scalpers. Stock does seem to favour the neon model though which is more easily available.

Both Amazon and Tesco have a promotion on something like £20 off code so people could pick up The Switch for £259.99 so stock there was in greater demand because of the discounting.

The system is seemingly not available atm in Germany.

I don't see many suppliers when I click the link. All I see is some on ebay, some available bundle but not the console alone, or something like "we have reserved some"

And even if you get it "easily" in UK that doesn't change that you don't get it easy in many other European countries and that simply means that sales are lower as they could be.

Like I said in my first post in this thread, that doesn't mean that Switch will always sell better as PS4 here but right now it seems as if it would sell better if there would be more consoles retailers could sell.

I don't agree with your analysis, it looks to me you can order from Nintendo's own site and a few others plus walk into pretty much any Argos store and get one if your not fussed about which colour but I think in Europe there are markets even easier to get the Switch just not Germany or France.

When the Switch launched in the UK strong demand meant you couldn't get a Switch unless from a scalper and now it looks like you can just buy one even if your choice of retailer is reduced. I don't know what these scalpers are going to do with all their Switch's, they don't appear to be selling. I guess these will drop to standard retail prices or below. Personally with the first batch having some issues I'd rather get a later batch Switch anyway so would consider these inferior.

Consoles need to be produced first, you know? You can't just snap your finger and boom, here are your 2.5m new Switches. They were conservative after the Wii U, this has been splattered all over this place and beyond. And you can't blame them for being conservative after the Wii U.

They weren't conservative at all, hence how it managed to beat in many countries every other Nintendo console/handheld launch.

Well, take for example Horizon beating BotW in Europe by a large margin when it`s pretty much the opposite in the rest of the world, in some cases the game sold more than the console. The interest just isn`t there yet, sure, with some very Strong titles it could be reversed, but Switch seems to don`t be such a phenomeon there.

And the not in stock non-sense, well, it sold what it sold, and if even Nintendo is not much confident or not care about sending more units to Europe instead of Japan and NA, when Europe is pretty much the biggest console Market right now.

This is true. I get the impression that some people simply can't be satisified. Even if Nintendo had produced and sold double the amount we might still hear these people complain about artificial constraints.

Now here's my experience: when I bought it on day one in my local store there were groups of people already waiting in front of it and then run straight to the Switches when the gates opened, me being one of them. After ten seconds, I kid you not, the first batch they had was gone. Luckily they still had another batch behind the counter and that's where I got mine from. Some people bought all accessories on that day, some even bought two Switches at once.

Nowadays the situation hasn't changed, Switches are always sold out. If it happens that my store gets some stock it can sell it easily within a few days. I had just been there a couple of hours ago: no Switches, but a lot of those wheelies and 20 copys of MK8D.

The Gamestop being next to that store doesn't carry Switches at all, it sells all of them by preorder. They said they might still need some more months before reaching a point until some units hit their shelves.

Europe is Playstation domination since the first Playstation console. Nintendo and Microsoft have no chance there.
