It's one of those games that are just perfect for a console like this. The Wii U actually had quite a few of those, which is why I'm very pro-port this time around lol

Also, most people didn't get to play those Wii U games because... you know... they were on the Wii U O_o

Love it and the switch

Amazon is not a good indicator of sales. According to Amazon, Horizon and BOTW U have sold more than Ghost Recon Wildlands and Mass Effect Andromeda but we know that's not true. The rankings are all over the place really.

But it does tell us that the game is selling well in itself. Funny how people criticised Sony for The Last of Us and God of War 3 on PS4 and yet are excited for a port of Mario Kart 8 themselves. And asking for more ports of Wii U games on top of that.

A large part of that is that you are porting from an 80 million userbase in one instance and a 14 million userbase in another.  Another part is they saw what those ports were like and the success driven from them and realize now that ports aren't all bad.  :)

I don't think the bolded is particularly relevant to what people used to argue. Install base matters because of the effect it can have on sales, but the sales of a PS4/X1 remaster had little effect on the criticism it received from certain portions of the community. My opinion has always been that if a remaster sells well and is enjoyed, then its existence is justified. That opinion was often shot down though because remasters are all "lazy" and "take away resources from new games".

I'm glad we're past that, but it's depressing that we usually only see significant overall shifts in opinion from Sony, MS, or Nintendo fans when their company of choice joins in on what was previously "bad". There are plenty of people who are earnest in their opinions, but they often get drowned out. 'Tis a silly business.
