The PS4 is going to pass the PS1, period. Well, unless war or some great catastrophe hurts the market.  Even if the PS5 launches in 2019, the PS4 will be at 90M+ by the time it comes out.  A $149 PS4 and a $249 Pro will do fine against a $399 PS5.  My guess is we will see it stop at 115M-125M.  But it could go higher.  Who knows.

The Scorpio isn't going to do anything to hurt a $199 PS4 this holiday season.  Especially if MS really is aiming at $499.

Nah. They are just giving a reasonable guess, probably on the lower end, which will get adjusted later this year.  We will have a $199 PS4, at least for the holidays.  Pro will be $349, $299 if they are more aggressive against the Scorpio. Though, if MS goes for $499, it definitely will only drop the $50.
