Forums - Gaming Discussion - How Sony could counter the Switch!

There's just no room for Sony.

Mobile kills them on one end, and then they would have to go toe to toe against Nintendo, who doesn't like to fight, but if you push them .... you are going to have a fight on your hands.

It's more about the people/fans they have imo.

The market that buys PlayStation just doesn't care about handheld gaming now. The CoD/Battlefield crowd aren't going to play those games on a handheld/tablet. Neither are people playing TLOU/Uncharted or Horizon going to want to play on a portable device either. Out of the house they play casual mobile games, if anything at all. Those big cinematic or multiplayer experiences they want to play at home, on the TV.

I mean just look at the best selling ps4 games, CoD, Battlefield, Destiny, Battlefront, Fallout, TLOU, Uncharted. Are the fans of these series, the people playing these games, really looking to play them on a handheld?

Fifa is the major seller on PlayStation that could be the exception to this. I just don't think PlayStation gamers give a damn about handheld gaming anymore.

Well if any of them do, then the Switch is pretty much their only option at this point. I dont think Nintendo would mind helping them out.

That would require the Switch to get the games that these people actually want to play. Maybe the Switch will get CoD this year.
