Makes sense. 3DS is getting old, cutting out the super stable 3D lets them get the price of the N3DS hardware down. Allows the 3DS line to coast on. Also, love the look of this personally.

DAMN! That's gorgeous!
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Honestly, after this, I can totally see it happening. This year we will get a remaster of an old pokemon game, and just in 2018 we get one for the Switch
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Pretty much. The Switch already has Mario and Xenoblade for the holidays.
I love this actually. No 3d is nice. New 3DS power. Cheaper price. I now kinda want to upgrade.

How much more does a regular N3DSXL cost at this point? Cant be much more than 150 bucks... |
In AUD the 2DS is $149, New 3DS XL is $249.
The 2DS XL will likely replace the regular 2DS over time, so $200 AUD for the launch 2DS X: would be a good guestimate.
The Switch for comparison sake is $470 AUD.

If they increased the screen resolution to 480p I would bite, but honestly can't see myself buying another 3DS model this point in its life, and now that I have a Switch and my original 3DS XL.
That's a smart strategy to extend the life of the 3DS. Is this the 6th revision/model?
